Humans generally hate us. Let's run down the list of the top four questions the agency gets, shall we?
"Are they even human?"
"Are they safe to have around my children?"
"Can it live outside? I don't want it in my house."
"Can I kill it if it goes nuts?"

Men have always sacrificed both themselves and their morals on the battlefield, it isn't news. People die, whether they're directly involved or not. Total warfare has claimed many innocents throughout history, leaving tragedy strewn about to rot and burn and fade. There are remnants of such chaos, tidbits that are overlooked... small things, really. Or, perhaps, they are not quite so small?

There are things to which the general population are wholly ignorant, including the true extent of leniency for misconduct during times of war. It invites misdeeds, and there is typically nobody around to right these wrongs.

For example, it would be best (for the oncoming plot) to inform you that in 1929, an agreement was made regarding the foreign children on the battlefield. Those battered little bodies in the dust were lucky to be dead, if they were. Those whose bodies fought on toward the light were faced with a crueler fate, snatched up by the U.S. government's prized science buffs and subjected to unthinkable treatments. Many took ill and died from the onslaught of injections and physical abuse, not to mention the immoral conduct on part of some of their 'caretakers'.

Roughly twenty years later, they began a different series of testing, having found a breakthrough; They'd found the ultimate in brainwashing techniques, however inhumane. With the help of hallucinogens and a number of other chemicals and quite a bit of physical reinforcement, they were able to 'recreate' the sensations of birth while triggering the release of learned behaviors, wiping clean the slate of each child's mind and making them fully dependent on the scientists that had removed them of their memories. These children would do anything they were told, and with a bit more conditioning, they performed well and with little complaint. They were used for odd jobs at first, sometimes sent to make field deliveries or sent out on reconnaissance missions.

But around that ever-so-finicky tween age, something started to click. It broke down quite a bit of that formerly blind obedience. That was a no-no for the science community, admitting the project's flaws would mean failure!

They began to look elsewhere for 'leashes', and it didn't take them long to realize that if the children were conditioned while having their hormones fused with those of the common dog, their instincts would, at the very least, keep them reasonably submissive to a pack leader. Loyalty was almost a guarantee. After receiving approval, they went to work collecting their canine source material from pedigree animals strays alike.
They hadn't seen such a huge success in genetic engineering before, and to think it was THIS simple!

"Now, of course, that was a hell of a long time ago, so let me skip ahead and slow things way down.

Since then, that rag-tag group of biochemists that slithered around in military facilities has evolved into something bigger and more dynamic; GABRIEL.
Like Gabriel, the messenger angel. Quite a name, right?

(Surely there's more to the name but I wouldn't know, they don't tell us much, we just piece it together.)

They sought to create the most advanced messaging technology known to man through their research, using the children from the new LF (Lost and Found) program to test the new tech. These 'children' are second class citizens, for two reasons; They are all born in impoverished, wartorn nations, and the majority are now cyborgs due to some sort of wound or because the medical junkies on-site were bored and wanted to to make bionic children to pass the time. Whatever the case, we hounds, or 'D.o.G.'s', rather, were soon regarded as safety personnel. As such, big corporations started wanting mixed-blood cyborg assassins for themselves for security purposes, and anyone with money and ties to the military could get their mitts on one just by saying 'please'.

Delegates of Gabriel, or Dogs, more like, are assigned first according to military necessity, and then according to who's paying better. Me, for example. I'm at the top of my unit in everything, so they're not throwing me at just anyone with deep pockets. I've been assigned to someone important, and I have no idea who it is. Though, it's more like I'm not allowed to ask."

I will be a BIT upset if someone decides to take this idea away from me, I've been using it for 4 years. I put a lot of work in, it is an original premise.

Notice I only put up a portion of a plot; Bring something with you, like ideas for technology to add in. Anything at all relevant to your character and the given plot that you think would be fun or that would add flavor.

This isn't first-come-first-serve, because I'd really like to be intrigued by the person you bring to the thread. My character, the narrator in the second portion of the plot, is a person; He knows people, he has friends, he's got enemies, he has likes and dislikes and emotions and convictions. If you're interested, show me a solid person. Characters should always be a lot more than a name and a face, right?

I'm looking for a character to play the human in need of my character's services. This is an open plot, you can throw in pretty much whatever and whoever you'd like. Are they the young heir to an important company? Are they a gang leader? Are they mafia? Are they lonely? Are they an officer in need of a partner? A science prodigy working on a breakthrough? Are they ALSO partly cybernetic?

I'm currently looking for a male counterpart (MxM). If you do want it to have romantic undertones, I am all for it. Again, this plot does not have to be any specific thing.

It just has to be interesting.

I am looking for a talented partner who both challenges me to excel as a writer and who also holds my attention, you see. If you like sci-fi and the plot appeals to you, please feel free to message me privately. ^^

PLOT TERMINOLOGY:

Delegates are looked down upon and considered stupid/ignorant despite being brilliant and very well-read, and tend to attract stares and receive negative attention the majority of the time. Pureblood humans are lucky Delegates get chipped and recorded, they can't stand snobs.

A D.o.G. cannot harm a human or attack them with the intent to wound or kill outside work purposes; If not enlisted at the time of the encounter, then it is to be deemed first degree murder and the Ensign will be sentenced to death. They are not to operate outside the supervision of their (human) employers and instructors.

Terms to Know:

Dog - Derogatory; Anagram. See 'Mutt'. D.o.G. is the abbreviation for Delegates. The public tends to perceive them as robots or dumb beasts. 'Delegate' and 'Ensign' may be used interchangeably.

Flea(s) - Derogatory; Many Delegates often refer to pure-humans as needy parasites. This is common lingo, and always in jest.

GABRIEL - Formed in 1941, despite its roots dating back to the late 20's. Develops technology through use of human test subjects, which is highly efficient and speeds up research by decades. They're constantly recruiting new child Delegates in their many thousands each year because of the high mortality rate as per the awful testing/experimental phase of Delegate conditioning.

Leash - Describes the tech implants in the heads of all Dogs that can transmit messages to and from one Dog to another. I.e., 'Leash me if you need me.' Employers can also reach their Delegate using any device with satellite access, similar to a telephone connection. It is essentially a built-in cellphone and serves as a way to relay messages as well as orders.

LF - Lost and Found. This program was once only a war privilege, and has now grown into more of an international orphan trade as of 1972. Children are selected rather than salvaged. As the GABRIEL Foundation is a private faction that also allows for ties with certain representatives of the public, the methods they used to procure the children prior to the early 70's had to be drastically changed to suit the public eye. It is generally believed that Delegates were once unruly teens who were sanctioned into the program straight out of juvenile halls, which could not be farther from the truth. Children as young as five can begin conditioning and a large portion of them are purchased internationally.

Rank - Assigned to classify Delegate personnel. Low to high is D through A, with rank 'S' (SUPERIOR) being the best of the best. D and C are disposable muscle, B and A are generally used for group maneuvers, military and police work, and for public escort. S class is the rarest and most expensive but is well worth the money. They are best suited to solo work as hitmen and bodyguards.

Ticks - Derogatory; Medical technicians that specialize in GABRIEL's dirty work, or in cybernetic reconstruction, rather.

Mutt - Derogatory. Aimed at Delegates of Gabriel, because of their canine traits.

Pup - Refers to Delegates guilty of resistance or newly trained Delegates with no 'field' experience.

Ward - A name for the wealthy or important employers under Delegate protection.
