Just thought I'd toss out a few ideas I've been toying with, see if I get a bite on any of them. A few things about me…
Been writing for over 10 years. I need at least three good paragraphs to keep me interested (unless it's intense dialogue or quick back and forth between characters, I know posts won't always be long).
I work. I do things after work. I can usually post once a day, though.
I realize this is a big one for some- I'd like to fade to black. I very much love my romance and there's quite a bit we can do before fading. And down the line if the rp is going insanely well and it's a good long term rp we can talk about it. But I find that most of the time it starts to take over the story before I'm feelin' it and it goes downhill from there. I only have 1 plot down here that I can see not fading.
My rps are centered around character development. I love a good story and romance but I love to see our characters grow. Both together and as people individually. When you write I like to know what they're thinking, feeling. Just like when you read a book, the text isn't just about what they did or said. It's about when they hesitate, or the 'why' behind those actions. Describing when they started to fall in love, or when hatred filled their heart. There will be tears of joy and slammed doors out of anger. If you're not into detailed posts like that, then I'd be a terrible partner.
Plot ideas:
When Evil Corrupts the Heart
YC, an experienced warrior that has left the king's army for his own reasons, has been working as a hired personal guard for years. He's worked for various families, but most recently it's been over a small girl for a noble family. She has, however, been kidnapped by a nasty demon after her parents were seemingly killed.
On his way north to retrieve her he appears to run into trouble with a wolf…midway through the fight he finds out it's actually MC, a shapeshifter meaning no harm if your character truly is who he says. After hearing the story, she wants to come along, and might even have some friends who can give a little insight as to whether her parents were really killed and what this demon wants with such a sweet, innocent girl… (If you're not into shapeshifting then it can just be a mage or elf or something).
Assassin's Apprentice
This one is loosely based off assassin's creed, but you don't have to have played to write this story. A more experienced assassin within the brotherhood, despite his talent and years of service, is somewhat of an outcast despite wearing the same robes, even having a leadership position within the group. He is despised because of his use of poison, which is for some reason seen as devious. It makes no sense to him, but since there's no law against it they cannot actually punish the man.
At any rate, one night he's visiting one of the many pubs in London and gets to witness a fairly impressive fight that breaks out between a woman (MC) and what looks to be a drunk noble that had apparently done something to anger the woman. By the looks of her clothes (or lack thereof) she's a prostitute, but by her fighting there's more to her than that. She does end up losing, however, or would have if YC hadn't stepped in.
She offers to thank him with a round of drinks. They could use more woman in the brotherhood, and after speaking for a few hours he sees they might just be able to help each other out. There is a certain nobleman he wants dead, you see, and working together on the first mission might just mean he has a new apprentice. (I have a whole big plot lined out for this. Last time I did this rp it lasted a year, and we were only halfway through. It's a vague big picture plot though, so lots of room to add your thoughts and creativity)
It Takes Two to Fix the Broken
This last idea is…not for everyone. It is incredibly emotion based and takes deep, complex characters. There is no action, and you have to be able to write a lot of…thought down. Of the little things they do. MC and YC meet online. Perhaps roleplaying…I think this would be good because after a year of writing you can feel like you know the person…even if you really know nothing about them. Perhaps they chat about things going on (or reasons for absence while writing), and this brings up the fact that she lost her job, or maybe he did, and had to move. As fate would have it, it's right in the same city as the other person. But they don't have a pace to live and are NOT signing a 6 month lease on an apartment when they want to buy a house. It's a great job, they'll be sticking around. The other offers to let them stay…a month, two tops. Right?
MC would be incredibly nervous at this, but being a good girl would feel like she needed to offer it, or perhaps desperate enough to take the offer if it's the other way around. Men are…something to stay away from, in her experience. Genophobia has taken over her intimate life, and coupled with a love for physical touch has complicatedly ended any hope of a real relationship. She is easily seen as a tease. She's a strong girl, though, has a good job and you'd never guess it by her bubbly and stubborn personality. It would take a good friend to see what was in her heart.
This isn't all there is to her, of course, but it's a start. This will be a modern slice of life rp, and I want your character to have whatever rl issues you can see going with this to make it a good rp. If this rp is as good as I hope in my head, I don't want to fade to black. I want them to grow close…go through happiness and a load of crap together. Real life is messy, and so is this rp. It takes a detailed, patient person behind the writing that cares about the characters as if they are their own. That cares about character development.
