Character(s) A FOOL'S CHARACTERS

Name: Isaac Salamandros
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Hetero, but can't prove it

Physical Characteristics:

Age: 28
Height: 5'10"
Build: Lithe, but athletic
Skin Tone: A well-tanned olive
Hair: Short-cropped black hair, threatening to become unmanageably wavy if it grows even a bit
Facial Features/Beard: Isaac has a small mole on his left cheekbone, and a scar on his lips from an ill-fated climb. Any attempts at growing facial hair have been disastrous, and Isaac has been mercilessly mocked into never trying again.
Eye Colour: Dull brown, almost black
Markings and tattoos: Isaac desperately wants a tattoo, but could never commit to a design and is a little nervous to get one anyway.

Personality: Isaac is optimistic to a fault, and stubbornly determined to keep his positive viewpoint. He can come across as childish and innocent, but it all comes down to a need to prove the world good. This comes at a cost of being overly-trusting and easy to take advantage of at times, but it's a price Isaac has consciously decided to pay.

Abilities: Isaac has uncanny talent for footwork and balance. He could be a dancer, but his heart is fully devoted to the desire to become a royal knight. He is actually a pretty competent protector, and can handle the social demands of the position, but there is a point where he falls flat: following through on combat with another person. His peers know very well to put Isaac in the position to fight monsters, and keep him well away from violent humans.

Background: Isaac is one of two twin sons of the famous blacksmith Salamandros. When they were first born, the name was synonymous with a peerless artist and a dealer of death. The soldiers outfitted with his works would come to worship him as a minor god of the forge. In those days, Salamandros was a close friend of Count Dixian, and the two would often be found together, drinking and smoking together in the count's study. With the death of the countess, the area fell on hard times. The work of artists became less sought after, and Salamandros retired to making horseshoes and repairing farm tools.
The twins, smitten with the stories villagers told about of their father's work, vowed to make the country remember the Salamandros name. The elder, Abraham, studied the forge tirelessly. Isaac had no talent for it. So, despite his timid and overly-kind nature, Isaac decided to become a royal knight. The two worked relentlessly. Abe was determined to make the armor and weapon that Isaac would wear at the king's side. In turn, Isaac practiced swordplay with anyone willing to teach him, and took to practicing on his own in the nearby mines.
One fateful day, his practice was interrupted by the sudden intrusion of a girl, being pursued by monsters. Though they had never meet, he knew her to be the daughter of the count from his father's stories. Barely taking time to think, Isaac rushed to her aid and dispatched the monsters. She wasn't conscious enough to know what was going on, nor was he, but when he regained his senses, she was on a carriage bound for the estate.
More than a decade later, Isaac had started to gain recognition as a guard. Rumor has it, he's due to be stationed in the palace soon. If he can prove himself, he knows it will be his chance to bring the Salamandros name back to the spotlight.
