There are many regions within the world of Pokemon. From Kanto to Johto, Unova to Alola, many places on the planet are home to the creatures known as Pokemon. This particular adventure happens in the region of Osaki, a mildly temperate region that lies just above the Equator. This means the far North gets very cold while the far South gets very hot. A large diversity in climate means a large diversity in Pokemon, and with an official Pokemon League as well as Elite Four the Osaki region has done well for itself over the years. There's far more than just battling, like all Pokemon regions, and many Pokemon owners may go their whole lives without battling. Breeding, Contests, or just living your life alongside Pokemon with no need for conflict gets most people by. The adventure is up to you, but know that the path always lies open.

Hello, this is fairly straightforward and I'll cut to the chase. This is a role-play adapted off of a Pokemon Tabletop RPG I've written. I'm looking for three additional people to fill the world. A group role-play works most effectively for this, as long as the writers involved understand that this world is built on cooperation and not competition.

To list my expectations: At least two to three paragraphs per post. There's a lot to cover in this RP, from your internal dialogue to your Pokemon, interactions, environmental details, speaking to other players, etc. etc. The point being short posts not only fail yourself, but the other players. Spellcheck exists and is easy to access, so do your best to maintain coherent posting. I'm one of the stricter people on the site in terms of what I will and won't accept in terms of writing, but I always accept effort. Secondly, if you choose a starter that is not one of the "regular" options from any region, be sure that it follows the same format. Three stage evolution, no pseudo-legendaries, something a regular person would be able to catch on their own. Simple enough, yeah?

I will be effectively acting as both a player and Game Master in terms of the overarching plot, mostly to keep people from saying "ha look i caught a mew". Cause let's be honest, you didn't. Battling and capturing will be mostly free form, since again, this is for fun and isn't a competition. There is a League system in place, all Gym Leaders exist as do the Elite Four. There is a villain team with their own motivations, which will be introduced over time.

Once the group has been filled, and unfortunately I am picky with what I believe to be quality writing, I will close this thread and we will continue in a group PM since it'll be easier to discuss the expectations and start the actual process of the role-play.

That's all I've got to say, I've got maps and stuff for the world, blah blah blah. Apply below, thanks.

Information for the character sheet, be sure to think about what realistic goals a Trainer may set for themselves before deciding to travel across an entire continent.

Matias Whitaker

1b3f4dd11243c962537114f255a64584.jpg

Name: Matias Whitaker.

Nickname: He doesn't have one.

Age: 27.

Gender: Genderfluid, male-leaning.

Orientation: Pansexual.

Starting Town: Hummiota.

Goal as a Trainer: To help uneasy spirits rest. Some Pokemon are seperated from their Trainers by death, and Matias wants to help ease the passing and settle lingering souls.

Preferred Starter: Duskull, caught late one night outside of Hummiota, while the Pokemon was staring at the Moon.

Height: 6'1".

Weight: 162 lbs.

Appearance: Matias has black hair that he keeps short on the sides but dyes blue on the top. He wears fairly standard Trainer gear, long pants and sleeves to protect his limbs from both the elements and any potential rashes or bug bites. He carries a backpack which holds all of his important items, and a hat to keep the sun out of his eyes. His clothes are Poke Ball colors, red, white, and black. Overall, just a fairly regular person out on an adventure.

Personality: Matias is patient and calm. He is old enough to understand that rushing everywhere only leads to exhaustion, and that taking your time to do a task right ensures you won't have any mistakes come back to bite you. He is highly respectful of the cycle of life and understands Pokemon and Trainers share the same cycle despite being so different.

Backstory: Matias was raised in Hummiota, which is roughly half a day's walk from both Glasgate and Tillrial. Due to that, he often traveled back and forth while growing up, enjoying Pokemon from a distance. Everyone has the dream of being Pokemon Champion as a kid, but when you grow up, you realize how unattainable that is. Matias was content staying at home and helping his parents for many years. One day, this changed. On a night walk through the flower fields outside of Hummiota, he spotted a Duskull. It wasn't moving, but simply staring at the Moon. Matias carefully approached, and the Pokemon made no action towards him, choosing instead to keep looking up. Sitting next to the Pokemon, Matias spent several hours trying to understand what exactly this Pokemon was doing. It occurred to Matias that there was more than one way to be important in the world, and you didn't have to be League Champion to make a difference. Offering a Poke Ball, the Duskull accepted, and though Matias isn't sure what the Ghost-Type was doing he is sure it was meant to happen. His goal now? To help other Pokemon like his Duskull and figure out what keeps them rooted to this world.

Three Likes:
Problem solving.
Traveling.
Familial bonds.

Three Dislikes:
Unnecessary battling.
People who rush into conflict without thinking.
Rain.

Fears:
Falling short. There's a large world out there, and Matias may spend his whole life attempting to make a difference and failing. Wasting his life on a fruitless goal scares him more than anything.

Milly S. Valentine

Name: Milly S. Valentine.

Nickname: Some people call her Mil or Mills.

Age: 22.

Gender: Female.

Orientation: Bisexual.

Starting Town: Glasgate.

Goal as a Trainer: To meet and become friends with as many Pokemon as she can.

Preferred Starter: Togepi, hatched from an egg that her father gave her and she carried around everywhere.

Height: 5'5".

Weight: 124 lbs.

Appearance: Milly has long brown hair that goes down to around the middle of her back. She likes to where a sleeveless shirt and vest, jeans, gloves, and tennis shoes and a matching hat. She also carries around bag for her gear which matches her shoes and hat. Her gloves are white with black trim, her vest is black, and her shoes, hat, and bag are all white with a few different colored lines.

Personality: Milly is a sweet girl that loves Pokemon. When she's around other people she tends to be shy, but still kind. Usually if she meets someone else's Pokemon she tends to try to become friends with it. If she's closer to Pokemon rather that other people she almost always smiles. She also prefers to keep her Togepi out it's Pokeball and carry it.

Backstory: Milly was raised by her father in Glasgate ever since her mother passed away when she was still young. When her mother passed away she became more distant from people so her father let her play with his Pokemon most of the time, making her want to meet and become friends with more Pokemon. When she turned 22 her father gave her the egg with her now beloved Togepi inside and she carried it everywhere she went. Not long after the Togepi hatched from the egg she told her father she was going to go try to meet different Pokemon and become friends with as many as she could.

Name: Cassidy Peterson

Nickname: Cassie

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Orientation: Heterosexual

Starting Town: Tillrial

Goal as a Trainer: Her goal as a trainer is to simply bring a little light into the lives of those she meets.

Preferred Starter: Shinx

Height: 5'4

Weight: 134 lbs.

Appearance: Cassie is a natural blonde with bright blue eyes. She typically wears brighter colors (preferably pink) with a pair of black leggings and white boots. She carries a bag that is similar to a purse but large enough to carry her supplies in it. Her belt has special attachments on it for her Pokeballs as well.

Personality: Cassie is a social butterfly. She loves people and she loves making friends. Her motto is that everyone deserves to have at least one good friend, and she is constantly on the lookout for her newest victims. She is optimistic in every sense of the word. She prefers to look at life as if the glass is always half full (if not completely), and she is always ready to find even the smallest twinkle of light in a dreary situation.

Backstory: Cassidy basically grew up in Tillrial, although she was actually born in a small town nearby. She has always loved Pokemon, and her parents strongly encouraged the bonds that she would make with both the domesticated and the wild. She was a very active child and was constantly playing with her friends. As the years went by, her friends began moving away to go on their own Pokemon journeys. She would have gone with them if she hadn't been so picky on what her starter Pokemon would be. She had promised herself from an early age that she would never force a Pokemon to travel with her, and therefore she wouldn't settle for the first one she came across.

This new sense of loneliness and abandonment (although that term is a bit dramatic) caused her to withdraw from whatever social life she had left. She was stuck in the awkward stage where adults were too old and other children were too young to make good friends, and so she spent more time with the Pokemon that lived nearby. She eventually met a Shinx who she got along with very well. So well, in fact, that she knew she wanted the Shinx to be her partner on her journey. Luckily, the electric type agreed to come along, and Cassie found that her light had returned. She vowed that day that she would bring light to everyone she met so that they would never have to suffer in the darkness like she had.

Three Likes:

Stars/Night sky

Talking

Making friends

Three Dislikes:

Seeing Pokemon being used as tools

Sitting still for too long

Heat

Fears: Being abandoned by those she loves and being left alone. It is a fear that drives her to make as many friends as possible if only to avoid it in the future.

Excellent.

Well alright, only need one more. Coming together pretty well.

We'll start either when we hit four participants or Monday, whichever comes first.

Three is a completely acceptable number.
