Where once there stood a realm of men, oblivion has spilled over. One bulwark of the old kingdom remains, Dorben, a small holding nestled on cliffs over the ocean. Outside, All is taken by nature, a forest twisted over forgotten land. Beneath it and between the trees is something worse, chaotic, more powerful. Few know the nature of this thing, and none who have gone out have returned. The folk of Dorben live and die within one county. Every 10 years they send a collection of unlucky souls - between 15 and 35 years of age - into the forest. It is their duty to return order to the world, it is said.
