PERSONALITY:
Overall, Ruby Spark is one of the greatest people you can have in your life. She is a very good friend once she takes liking to someone and would cut her arm off for a friend. Being a mutant has taught her that she actually had to cherish and appreciate every friend and to the few she was, she is endlessly loyal and devoted. Usually, she wears this wide cheeky grin on her face, the one that lets people know she is quite approachable and the one that makes her customers return to her small bakery in Brooklyn.
But once someone gets on her bad side, she can get become a real asshole. Those who do not respect her, can be hit with one of her endless sarcastic comments and be glad it only stayed with that. Before she learnt how to control her power, there were many accidents with burns and she was usually called a weirdo. Now she is in full control but that doesn't mean she won't use it to get someone's ass whipped. It is usually the result of her impulsive fits when she acts before she thinks.

DESCRIPTION OF SUPERPOWER: Ruby can generate, shape and manipulate power of fire, flame and heat. I causes her to be immune to fire and controls it all with her mind. Ruby can either utilize it from existing source like open fire, oven, fireplace, etc, but she can generate her own flame as well and manipulate it in a way she wants, whether she forgot her zippo to light a cigarette or she wants to scorch a scumbag.
APPLICATION 1: fire balls - The first ability she has learned was producing fireballs, shooting them straight from the palms of her hands. It is her basic, yet most efficient attack and the one she uses the most.
APPLICATION 2: fire absorption and utilization - Whenever used against her, Ruby absorps the fire and even uses it to enhance her own strength. It can also restore her energy if drained as she uses it as a power source.
APPLICATION 3: heat manipulation - She can create, shape and manipulate heat by increasing the kinetic energy of atoms. Thatcauses things become hotter and Ruby is the one to determine the degree, whether it's just a subjective feeling of warmth or absolute hotness. Though low temperatures decrease the effectivity of this ability.
APPLICATION 4: pyrokinetic flight - It took time but Ruby finally learned how to use fire for flying. It includes flying, gliding or levitating through the air.
APPLICATION 5: incineration - A power that enables Ruby to destroy an entire object or person with extreme heat. Possibly her ultimate ability. She doesn't use it often as it drains her too much but is absolutely empowering and frightening. She utilizes the high temperature and burns her enemy to the ashes.
SKILLS: Ruby is skilled in martial arts and even blasting her fire balls around, she can kick her way out of any situation. Thanks to her parents, who had enrolled her in many different extracurriculars as a kid, she is a flawless gymnast which also helps her in her nocturnal job. But for now, her mutation has helped her the most. Oh...and those cupcakes? To die for.
EQUIPMENT 1: body suit - black and red full body suit, long-sleeved, zippered, including the belt with holster for her gun
EQUIPMENT 2: golden zippo - a signature item she flickes her thumb over when she attacks. No reason, it's mostly for the show and she doesn't really need it. But every good show needs it's theatrics.
EQUIPMENT 3: gun (Colt m1911) - despite her being the ultimate weapon, she feels safer if her gun is still in her purse. And yes, she uses it. Often. Possibly too often. Shot injury is something too common in New York. But how often you find a man burned to death? In a way, it's clever.
BACKSTORY:
The Spark's were just another ordinary middle-class family. Roland married Marissa, his high school sweetheart, and they lived a nice comfy life. They worked their asses of to make sure their little newborn Ruby was taken care of. Roland was a real estate agent and one day, out of the blue, he hit the jackpot. He got hired by one of the biggest companies in New York and from one day to another, his family moved to the highest circles of the society. Roland couldn't be happier. He had great job, loving wife and beautiful daughter.
Until she was five, Ruby was just like any other kid there was. She was cheerful and optimistic, always laughed. But once she reached 5, the Spark's started to notice there was something odd about her. Of course, it took a few more years for her abilities to fully appear and they did on Ruby's 16th birthday. But until then, there were several small fires in the household and frightened nannies. The parents didn't want to believe. But when Ruby blew sixteen candles on her birthday cake and instead of applause, the guests witnesses something that resembled a fire-breathing dragon. Everyone ran, screaming and from that moment on, Ruby Spark was considered a freak.
She spent years in their estate, never coming out, being homeschooled and the only people who talked to her were her parents and her old nanny Maria. The saint woman gave Ruby the basics in baking and there she got her passion and the initial idea what she wanted to do with her life. She learnt new and new things every day, with or without Maria. And most of all, when she was alone, she was trying out her powers and after a real struggle, she learnt how to tame them first and then how to utilize them for her own good.
Family fortune helped her to open up a small romantic bakery at the Upper East Side in New York. Her birthday incident was mostly forgotten and basically, so was she. When the name Ruby Spark was said, everyone only talked about the heavenly scones, not about how they were almost burned to death. For two years, Ruby lived a quiet life, sold her pastries, lived like a normal human. Until the day her parents died. It was one brutal car crash. When Ruby went to the morgue to identify the bodies, she almost threw up.
It took her weeks to process the news but apparently, the blows were not over. She learnt that the car crash was no accident. Her father was becoming very successful and jealousy was a bitch. New York is not cattle village and the competition is fierce. It's eat or be eaten. And Roland Spark was not careful enough. He flaunted his success and rubbed it in faces of the wrong people. And he paid the highest price for it. But now that Ruby knew, she was furious. And quite frankly, she has seen far too many movies which caused her considering the idea of becoming a vigilante possible.
Ruby took the darker path where during the day, she still sold cupcakes but during the night, she started to hunt the bastards. Technically, she belongs to the good guys but there are far too many bodies in her account now. Yet, she still hasn't found out the bastard who wanted her parents dead. With this kind of a job, Ruby's senses became sharp enough to realize she was being watched.
It wasn't until later that Ruby has gotten an email, stating they knew who she was and what she was doing. With a frown and suspicion, not even knowing why exactly, she followed the instructions and that was the beginning of the new path for this vigilante. And all it took was a ride through the tubes…
