Hello Sanctum Dwellers!
As many of you know, our server move last month has given the site significant added resources—and over the past few days, we've started putting those resources to work. Today is the first batch of new site add-ons, our way of continuing to make the Sanctum a better place to write. Our thanks to you, both for your donations and for your general support of the site.
So what's new?
1. With our new Staff Application add-on, we have completely revamped our Staff and Dungeon Master application process. Please see this thread for full details on what is required and how to apply. Even if you don't want to apply yourself, it's good information to have!
2. Our first big gift to members: Profile Cover Images. You can now spice up and add a personal touch to your profile page. This should already be visible to each user on their own page and can be set at any time. Images too tall for the frame can be repositioned after upload. Please remember that all site restrictions regarding images still apply: No GIFs or moving images, nothing pornographic and so on, all apply to profile cover images as well.
3. Hiatus Notifications and Away Status is also available on your profile page. Going away for a while? Now you can set your status so it shows directly on your profile page and your user card when selected, including the length and reason for your absence, if you like.
4. We have added a simple Back-To-The-Top Button to make scrolling back up while reviewing long threads easier. Just scroll a bit and look in the bottom right of your screen (note that this might not appear on some mobile devices)
5. On the back end, we have added an Image Loader that makes it so your browser only loads images you can see. For mobile users, this should save data and for those on slow connections, should help speed things up a bit
