Closed Anyone up for Ending the World?

This is an idea I have tried a couple of times before, but it struggled because of OOC distractions. I am looking to try again.

What I need:
1. Literate, multi-paragraph writers

2. People who can post at LEAST once a week. Please take this requirement seriously. I understand real life happens and delays might as well, but please only sign up if you can realistically meet that requirement and will let me know if there will be delays.

3. Be willing to play multiple, distinct characters. Even if you start with one, the plan is for pretty much everyone to play at least two. This allows for a more diverse group and allows ways to work around everyones schedules.

4. Be alright with violence. Some sexual content is likely as well, but it isn't mandatory to be involved in it and this is not a sex roleplay.

For right now, I am looking for FOUR other writers. The number is flexible, but it will be extended at my discretion.

I will be acting as a semi-DM for this game and I will be asking everyone to run their characters by me. That way I can ensure a balanced group.

The plot:

Our characters have superpowers. No one knows where they came from, no one knows why they exist, but the governments of the world all agree, they need to be controlled. Some experiment, others train them as weapons, others just kill and dissect.

At the start, most of your characters will be trapped in a prison facility. Our first run will be the breakout, which will allow us to introduce them and their abilities.

Abilities:

I am something of a stickler in this regard. The following rules govern the way powers work in universe:

1. Powers tap into fundamental forces of nature. Elements, heat, light, sound, gravitation, etc, etc. They are never limited to affecting only human constructs (Though a character might believe they are) and they are never abstract. Powers should be as basic as possible, to ensure there are a lot of clever ways to use them.

2. Powers have weaknesses that are built into them. No kryptonite exists in this universe, no simple cancellation switch. For example, a character using electric powers might have trouble predicting exactly the path that their lightning will take and endanger allies or someone that manipulates human emotions might have extreme difficulty not immersing themselves in the feelings of their victims.

Out of universe, there are two more rules:
1. Powers are useful. Astral projection might sound cool—but if your character is going to be near useless 90% of the time, it's going to be REALLY hard to work them into the story.

2. Powers are interesting. Sure, it might be fun to just throw fireballs at everyone. But it isn't that interesting to read or to write. Powers that have a lot of possible clever applications, which can be used in abstract or unexpected ways or which allow for intersting tag-teaming between characters are ideal.

If you are interested, please post your character(s) below, filling out the following information or send it to me via PM. I will PM you from there to discuss.

Backstory (Optional):

I will be considering the needs of the group as far as character designs on a first come first served basis (So we don't wind up with 10 tanks and no infiltrators). I will be talking with everyone to make sure that their powers and backstory will mesh well with the universe.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!!

Just marking my place in here. I'll edit this with the rest of the info soon.

Name: Case Phillips
Class: Tank
Age: 40
Height: 6' 0"
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Body type: Medium
Identifying marks (Tattoos, scars, etc): None

Power: Density Control/Manipulation over his body mass and that of small to medium sized objects.

Weakness: Lacks Discipline; Self-serving and Obdurate at times. Using his power takes a significant toll on his endurance/stamina and thus can only sustain it for a short time. Usage over time will elongate the period at which he can use the powers at any given time.

Backstory (Optional): Case was a petty criminal with an inflated ego before getting captured by authorities and locked away. He came from humble beginnings and didn't become aware of his powers until early adulthood. It was then that he started his life of crime and - thanks to his newfound abilities - was very good at it. He began robbing small banks and jewelry stores. The crimes never yielded much, which is why he had to do it so frequently. Case was betrayed by a man he considered a friend and has since been locked away in a special cell to negate any use of his powers. He remains there to this day.

Name: Summer Collins
Age: 22
Height: 5' 6"
Eyes: electric blue
Hair: golden blonde with a dyed blue streak on the right side
Skin: pale
Body type: athletic
Identifying marks (Tattoos, scars, etc): calluses on all fingertips as well as a sunburst shaped scar on her lower back

Power: The ability to control electricity. She can steal power from power sources and machines to shut them off or to use the power as a weapon. This can vary from a small zap to something resembling a bolt of lightning.

Weakness: Smaller discharges are easier to direct and handle but as the discharge builds it becomes less predictable as to what direction the current will take as well as if it will jump to other objects. She has the ability to hold onto small charges for several minutes before releasing them. Holding onto or even simply releasing a large discharge puts physical strain on her body and more than once she has had to have her heart restarted.

She can pull electricity from the atmosphere if there are no other power sources nearby but this takes more times and causes her fatigue with the effort.

Backstory (Optional): Summer was not born with her ability. When she was fifteen, she was swimming in a pool during a storm with friends. When it began to pour, people left the pool and she was the last one to leave. Before she was able to exit, the water was struck by lightning. She was pulled from the water not breathing and having no heartbeat. Upon being resuscitated, she immediately pulled power from the EMT's equipment and then fired it back into the ambulance, causing the sirens and lights to go haywire before shorting out.

It didn't take long before Summer realized her gift could be used for her own personal gain. Robbing stores became easy. Once without power, she could walk in and take what she wanted. Physical barriers couldn't keep her out with a blast of current. She then worked her way up to banks. Her streak continued until she came upon a large bank that was ready for her.
