Hello Everyone!
I am an OrthodoxOxymoron--But you can call me Orthodox, Oxy, OO--Actually, just call me whatever suits your fancy, and might be easiest for you in the moment. Doesn't matter to me either way.
Regardless, I am thrilled to be able to join this community! I was searching around for a while trying to see If I could track down a forum that I could feel comfortable sharing my creative output with, and I think The Sanctum fits the bill pretty much perfectly.
So, about Me:
I have been RP'ing in some form for most of my life. It started when I was young and I would write stories to myself, probably illegible to everyone including myself, but stories none-the-less. This evolved as I grew older and got into TTRPG's, a hobby that I still actively participate in. As of late I have been migrating towards play-by-post forums such as this one, because a couple of 3-hour long RPG sessions once a week (That get canceled more often than not) just aren't scratching the itch I have for my creative output.
As for me, I can write a lot of things, but I--In execrable derivation--Tend to float towards Fantasy settings. Still, that doesn't mean I don't have ideas for other settings.
I will admit that the vast majority of my characters are either Male or are of a disposition where their gender is not an important aspect of their Identity. This is very much a personal flaw, and I have been trying to write more female characters. That being said, If I play a character, they are probably going to be a guy.
In terms of pairings, I'm fine with anything. No, really, anything, so long as they are a consenting adult. Men, Women, people who fall somewhere between those two positions--anything is good with me.
How do I RP?:
I love to Worldbuild, and in the preliminary stages of the RP I can go a bit overboard setting up the details. In terms of how much I post on average it really depends. For scene-setting posts I can easily pump out 1000+ words, but I tend to go a lot shorter if, say, it's just two characters talking to one another.
I am absolutely thrilled to cast my net out there and see what kind of stories I can tell. I already have a plan for a setting I would love to show to all you fine people, and I'll probably be working on it later today.
