Story Timeline​

Setting: Fantasy world
Current Season: Winter​

Day One​

-Dain passes through the Alaghast Forest in the Kingdom of Caladale to get to the town Strongwind in search of Guin rumors.
-Is set up and betrayed by Karth who tries to have him killed by other members of Ilgrim's Shadows for having "doubt" in the cause.
-He escapes to a nearby farmhouse where he encounters Ceres at the end of a meal, her "meal" being a man she tracked leaving a tavern and returning home to beat his family. She drinks from him but leaves the wife and child untouched after demanding clothes.
-Dain proposes he and Ceres work together to go on the run from the other members of the Shadows. They escape out the back of the farmhouse, Dain shoots and kills one of the Shadows. Ceres teleports them to a ditch where Dain camouflages them and they wait several hours before being found by Elgin, who tells them when it will be safe and wishes them luck.
-Dain ties them together to walk over the half frozen river, it cracks and he falls in before offering her blood to fuel a teleportation to the other side and safety. They make it to a cave and get a fire started to dry off and warm up before moving on.
-They reach Aineswell at nightfall and Dain pretends Ceres (now in human form) is his wife to get them entry after news of a murder has left outsiders being treated suspiciously. After speaking with the Sheriff they decide to eat and rest for the night before investigating the murder.

Day Two​

-Dain gives Ceres a quick snack of blood before they have breakfast and set off to see the blacksmith.
-They have a brief conversation before investigating the house of the murdered women where they are attacked by a creature that turns out to be the blacksmith transformed.
