Hello!
I have a handful of ideas I've been toying with, and while they take place over a handful of different genres, each kind of revolves around the theme of bondage and control. I'm also a big fan of at least some degree of romance in this sort of story, so some of these ideas will start out kind of romantic, and others will take a while to get there. If you see anything that calls out to you, please send me a message!
*Rivals
When your character was about to start collge, her family hit hard times. The family business (which was illegal, but she didn't know) fell apart. The feds were closing in, and rather than go to jail, her family entered into a deal with the most powerful man in the city. The family's new benefactor made their legal troubles go away, stabilized the family business, and put your character through the best schools money can buy. But there was a price. At least once a week, he calls her from a secure line, and she is expected to appear to him without delay. During these 'dates,' she is his slave, complying with his every wish. This arrangement has been going on for years, and he has positioned her somewhere where her career can benefit him (I'm thinking reporter or DA's office, but this is pretty flexible). From time to time, she is forced to use her position to help him, and each time, he keeps enough evidence that if she crosses him, he can destroy everything she has.
Unfortunately for her, some of his enemies have figured out that she is a pawn for his games, and decide to take her out. When she is walking home, she is grabbed by a handful of masked men, and just when things seem like she is finished, a vigilante appears. He takes out her attackers, makes sure she is alright, and even sees her home, promising to check on her again later. Her benefactor couldn't be more delighted by the turn. He has been looking for a way to control or destroy the city's new vigilante, and now it seems his plaything might be the perfect weapon.
Effectively, what I would love to do here is have a triangle between your character, the benefactor, and the vigilante. She still 'belongs' to the benefactor, and is forced to spy for him, and perhaps even have his men put her in peril so that the vigilante will come rushing to save her. But each encounter with the vigilante makes her care for him a little more. Can she escape her 'owner' and find a way to be with her guardian? Would her guardian even care for her when he learns the truth? (This could absolutely be done with original characters, but I will love you forever if we do this with canon characters. I'd love to have the vigilante/benefactor be Superman/Lex Luthor, or perhaps even Spider-Man/Norman Osborn.)
*Office Arrangement
She has been fascinated with the idea of submission for as long as she can remember. On a whim, she decided to search around the web for a bit, and found a website that promised to help a submissive find their perfect dominant. The site frequented by a group of exceptionally wealthy individuals, and offered to set up a contract between dominant and submissive, containing what was and wasn't allowed, and any other terms that needed to be laid out. She ends up matching with a wealthy man who is just setting up an office in her city. His contract would require her to take a position as his administrative assistant, keeping the true nature of their relationship a secret from the rest of his staff, but as she is between jobs right now, that just might work out.
For this one, I would basically be looking for a dom/sub relationship takes place at least partially in an office. My character would be curious to see just how much he can get away with without any of the other employees realizing it. For this one, I'd be looking for the two characters to have an easy spark that turns into something more serious over time.
*The Curse of Capture
It is 1940, and while the United States hasn't yet entered WWII, there are some in the government who suspect it is only a matter of time. When the US realizes that Germany is searching for ancient relics that legends say had immense power, they form a small team to thwart the German's search. The government doesn't actually believe these objects do anything, but the fact that the Germans want them is enough to warrant a small team to try to thwart them. That team consists of your character (a young archaeologist, perhaps even the daughter of a famous adventurer) and my character (a former army lieutenant turned archaeologist). On their first mission together, they stumble upon an ancient tomb, home to a book that was supposed to contain forbidden knowledge. Legend says that whoever takes the book from its alter will be cursed, but there is no such thing as curses, right?
Only a minute after taking the book, tomb raiders burst inside, managing to take the book and your character as a hostage. As it turns out, the curse is real. The guardians of the book devised 'the curse of capture' as a punishment for anyone who would try to claim their knowledge. Effectively, evil is drawn to her like a magnet. The curse doesn't actually make people evil, but if she goes to a town, the local muggers will likely zero in on her, and will have the striking desire to leave her bound and gagged, rather than simply take her possessions. The duo's mission to claim artifacts will be that much more complex now that the fates are working against her.
(I'm looking for something kind of pulpy, with a sort of Indiana Jones feel to it. Nothing too heavy, just adventure and peril, with a healthy bit of romance that blossoms a bit after each successful rescue.)
