Hello, Sanctum Dwellers!

For our 3rd birthday we have something very special in store for you - Your very own book!
As you probably know, we have our own Publishing House here at the Sanctum.

We would like to publish a book - The Sanctum Chronicles (working title), entirely written by You - our Users! Text, Cover and Title!

We are after short stories, about 3000 words. It's alright if it's a bit more or a bit less and we are going to choose the best 10 to put in that book. If we get too many best ones, we will consider a second book and why not even a third one.

All profit from sales of The Sanctum Chronicles will be donated to the Forum and will be treated like a donation from You. This means that You'll get the medal, title and colors. Also an additional Medal, so everyone would know!

The legal stuff in short: Everyone who is approved for publishing, will receive a contract, guaranteeing them their ownership of the Work. You are the author of it, it's yours. You just grant us rights to publish it world wide.

The legal, the important bits:

Licence
The Author grants to the Publisher the non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish the Work in format agreed by both the Publisher and Author. The Author retains sole and exclusive worldwide copyright and all rights including moral rights to the Work in all formats and editions. An ISBN will be assigned by the Publisher to the Work and duly assigned for worldwide publication. Copies of the Work will be deposited at legally required depositories at no expense to the Author.

Publication

The Author grants to the Publisher the right to store, transmit, use and distribute minimal copies of the Work to facilitate the publication, printing and sales process. This includes to all booksellers and other vendors or affiliates.

Copyright

The Publisher will acknowledge and assert that the Author retains sole and exclusive worldwide copyright to the Script contained within the Work excluding drawings, illustrations, insofar as not furnished by the Author, or to any other material not furnished by the Author.

Editing

The Publisher shall make no changes in, additions to, or eliminations from the manuscript without the consent of the Author, and in order to obtain such consent, shall submit the copy-edited manuscript to the Author for his or her approval. The Author agrees to return such proof to the Publisher with his corrections within thirty calendar days of the receipt thereof by him other. The cost of alterations required by the Author, other than corrections of typesetting errors, in excess of fifteen percent of the original cost of composition, shall be charged against the earnings of the Author under this agreement; provided, however, that the Publisher shall upon request promptly furnish to the Author an itemised statement of such additional expenses, and shall make available at the Publisher's office the corrected proof for inspection by the Author or his or her representatives.

To Submit:

Send your Short Story via PM to me @Otys . It can be copy paste, or it can be an attached word document. Any genre will be considered, but please refrain from anything too explicit. Yes, easy as that.

The planning:

The Release date for the Sanctum Chronicles will be the First week of April 2019, for both e-book and paperback. Exact date to be confirmed.
Deadline for submissions is the 1st of February, but if you are able to do it earlier this would be great and most helpful.

The Cover (because we can't leave our art people out of this)
Alongside Submissions for The Sanctum Chronicles, we'll be holding a contest for the cover! As stated earlier, it will be entirely made by you - our users.
Same Rules and Deadline apply. We can work with a drawing, digital, photograph. Please, nothing too explicit and try to capture the spirit of the Sanctum.

The Title?
Please send your suggestion and the best of the best will be the one.

Questions? Ask here or PM me.

What are you waiting for? Let's make The Sanctum Chronicles reality.

I'm not an art person, but why not have more than one submission for the artwork as well? More than one picture on the cover of a book would be eye catching as well.

Press the Contact button or the Conversation button, depending on where you are.

Well gee, I guess I ought to figure out how to write stories that short.
