Hello Sanctum Dwellers!!!
It is time to vote on our June Writing challenge! But before we get to that, I do wish to address something—last month, staff became aware of a (fortunately) isolated incident where people were guilted by their writing partner for not voting or how they voted.
Let me be clear—there is a reason this is called a writing challenge and not a writing contest. The purpose is and always has been for people to challenge themselves with their own writing, write things they otherwise would not have and to do so on a deadline to apply the creative pressure of a ticking clock. The voting and the contest element exist for no other reason than to encourage more people to read each other's writing and in doing so, see how other people approach the same limitations. There is a reason why we have only one badge for winning but a dozen for participation. This is also why we stopped counting self-votes—we do not want to favour the approach of treating it like a contest to be won rather than an experience to be shared.
All of which is to say this: Anyone I find trying to bully, browbeat or guilt others into voting for them will have their entry immediately disqualified. Encouraging people to read your entry is fine, as is encouraging people to vote in general (which I encourage)—but this is not an election, it will not be treated as one.
Anyways, moving on:
All submissions are available in this forum.
Please read through all submissions and vote for the best entry. You may cast as many votes as you like. While we allow self-voting, self-votes will not be counted towards the totals. All submitted votes are final.
While further entries are still allowed for the participation badge (Courtesy of @Rose for the Hunter, they will not be added to the poll. Poll entries are ordered by the date and time they were submitted.
The winning thread will be featured on the site for the month of July and the user will receive a unique medal for their win!
Thanks to everyone for their participation and may the best submission win!!!
