Name: Elsye (short for Elizabeth) Wildes
Age: 29
History: Elsye is a descendant of witches that were persecuted in America in the late 1600s. The family coven was too afraid to continue practicing magic even in secrecy, so over many years their blood became diluted as it became virtually impossible to connect with other magical beings. It was too dangerous to be highly gifted anyway, so the coven made the terrible decision to give up their magic for the safety of their offspring. Luckily for Elsye, the magic in her bloodline had been diluted to almost nothing by the time it got to her. She had nothing to worry about, especially now that magic was no longer grounds to have you instantly burned at the stake. And the few powers she did have were pretty easily kept a secret. It simply wouldn't do for everyone to know how well she could hear, anyway.
Appearance: Elsye is small and wiry, standing at about 5'3". Backed in a corner she would have much better luck squirming out and running away than in a fight...though in the event of an attack she would not be above thumbing out a perpetrator's eyeballs. She keeps her wavy black hair short so it barely grazes her shoulders. It's easier to maintain that way. Curtain bangs sweep just over her eyes and frame her face. Her eyes are deep-set and dark brown, almost black. Her fair skin burns easily so she's usually all covered up until dusk, but she prefers to feel the air on her skin at night. She dresses in dark colors and simple, nondescript clothing. She likes to keep things simple whenever she can. It's easier to stay unnoticed that way.
Familiar: Elsye was incredulous when her familiar appeared to her two years ago. Familiars coming this late in life to a witch with blood this diluted was unheard of, but Edwina was unmistakable. One morning Elsye woke up, and Edwina was sitting on the other pillow watching her. Just like Elsye, she was small, dark, and quick. She tended to stay in the shadows, silently coming and going as she pleased. Her eyes seemed almost to glow amber in the light.
