Romeo- sticking true to the Shakespearean character, is known to be a massive flirt & smooth-talker. Able to cast a seductive spell on just about any crowd, he very much loves to take control and act as the center of attention, he enjoys it- hell, even they enjoy it. For, never has he told an absolutely boring story before, nor has he ever been dull either. Therefore, it's safe to say that Romeo is quite the popular socialite- among ALL of his counterparts, all but one, that is. On the contrary, the pretty boy may come off as elitist & arrogant due to his oh so tight circle, that and his overbearing sense of superiority. But hey, he can't help it! It just sorta slips out.
B I O :
Heir to Sana Miyazaki ~creator of B&C~ & Peter Van Buren {old money}, Romeo had been bred & raised to take after his parents, to be the heroic successor who'd after all, honor their legacies. And as such, home was never a very happy place- despite having been privileged in nearly every aspect. The only place he really lacked in was his familial life. Dad was never home & mom was always so- so distant. And since he never had any relationships with them- he turned elsewhere, turned to his classmates, his neighbors- anyone who'd listen. So it's no wonder why he's so out there.

"I-I've never done something like this before."
"Oh please, that is so last season."
"I thought I had done the right thing, but all I do is make mistakes. That's all I can do."

Shanaya Patel will never, ever fall in love. She knows this with all her heart, body and soul. She will never fall in love. It's not only because she doesn't want to, it's also because the the girl's never seen what real love is. She doesn't know what love feels like. Worst of all, she's afraid of it. (Don't tell her I told you that. It's a secret only she knows deep down.) She's afraid of falling so madly in love with someone that it becomes her weakness. She doesn't want to fall. She wants to be standing on her own two feet at all times. And she's fine like that. She doesn't need a knight in shining armour to sweep her off her feet. She'd rather be lying over stacks of money or books. Love? No, thank you.
The closest thing she's seen to love is her parents. Her mother told her they fell in love in high school. She said she was willing to sacrifice anything to be with her father, who was then, as Shanaya presumed, a handsome young man. It was a pity the same man her mother was so head over heels for was the same man who'd tortured her, Shanaya and her younger brother Zayn for most of their lives.
Back when Shanaya was a child, she'd had to cry herself to sleep multiple times when her parents would fight throughout the night. Sometimes it was about his gambling problem, other times it was about his infidelity. It was rare, but there were also times when her father would simply vent out his frustration. He wouldn't hold himself back from lashing out at all of his family, blaming her mother especially for holding him back from his ambitions, for tying him down to a family, for having him fall in love with her. Her mother never said anything, but Shanaya could tell her heart shattered everytime her father hurt her.
As a teenager, Shanaya would often beg her mother to leave her father. "Don't you dare say anything like that, Naya! What if he hears you? He'll kill you." Her mother would warn her. Shanaya eventually stopped begging her mother to leave her father. She knew her mother was far too blinded by love to ever do that. That, and she was financially dependent on her father, even if made minimum wage. Fortunately, Shanaya was never targeted on much by her father. Mainly because she never talked to him. She hated him that much. Sometimes when her father got too overboard with his lashing out, she would give him a glare or tell him to stop, but she never went further than that. She'd rather focus her attention on helping her brother out or make sure her mother's okay. Most of all, she cursed this thing called love for putting her mother through so much pain. It was love that made her mother collect the shattered pieces of her heart, put them all back together and only put them back in her father's hands once again - just for him to break it like he always did. Shanaya vowed to herself that she would never let this devious monster called love take over her. Never.
Fortunately, school life wasn't as hard for her. She attended a school in her neighbourhood, where many people were down-to-earth thanks to their lack of privileged backgrounds. She managed to make a bunch of friends, but they never got too close to her. They were good friends at best. Best friends was out of question. Shanaya would never let her walls down enough to have a best friend. Still, her friends were hardworking and a good influence on Shanaya. They held her back a lot of the times she was tempted to kill her father in his sleep. They also encouraged her to aim for her dream college, Princeton, despite her father telling her she'd "never get to be a cleaner at Princeton, let alone a student". Thank God for her friends.
It shouldn't be a surprise that Shanaya doesn't have a love life. She's never had a serious boyfriend. She prefers the no-strings-attached game. The "fuck me and never talk to me ever again" kind of lifestyle. And boy, does she like that. She doesn't need the emotional burden of a relationship but she still gets the same amount of passion and lust from every stranger she meets. Of course, she is very particular about protection. She isn't going to let some dumb horny frat boy ruin her ambitions. She can be quite a heartbreaker sometimes; unknowingly rejecting people who are into her. In her defence, she can't detect when people are hitting on her. And she's a master at saying 'no' to anything - especially when someone she's slept with asks her to go out with them for a coffee. The answer's a straight 'no' for that.
Currently, she's working as a bartender part-time. Even though she got into Princeton on a full scholarship, which is still hard for her to believe, she figured it would be good for her to get a source of income. That way, maybe one day, she'd be able to help move her mother and Zayn out of her father's house for good. Even after she got into college, her father hadn't changed one bit. He'd only gotten worse. He'd left his job as a clerk and become a complete bum, which leaves her mother with no choice but to start working as a receptionist at a hotel for income and to fund Zayn's high school education. After Zayn came out as gay, which Shanaya and her mother had embraced quickly, Shanaya'd been receiving more and more late-night phone calls from her mother about Zayn and her father getting into arguments about his sexuality. It was only a matter of time before the drunkard started some real chaos.
For now, Shanaya's... holding on. Yes, her family's in shambles, her schoolwork's hard to juggle with her responsibilities and her social life is as existent as a Dodo bird, but she'll make it. She's determined just as much as she's troubled. If there's anything more fervent than her desire to spit in her father's face, it's her desire to do be powerful. She wants to be someone great. And she wants to make a whole lot of money.
