Naila La Sirène

Character Background:​

Naila was “born” to the notorious goddess, Mami Wata. A power water spirit revered across the African and Caribbean diaspora, and some in the Americas, Mami Wata is notorious for duality representing not just the sea, but beauty and healing along with capriciousness and danger. While blessing and healing those who respected the Earth’s waters and praised her, she smited those who disregarded not just the seas but her. She was a volatile deity, and a jealous one, that’s been around with the oldest of gods.

Mami Wata could shapeshift, she took the appearance of many. While a beautiful woman from the torso up, she’d been seen with a mermaid tail and the lower body of a snake or even a gator-like lower half - but never legs. She couldn’t have legs. She would create her own blessing in her likeness, Naila with the help of an human she’d lured into a freshwater swamp.

Unlike her mother and creator, Naila wasn’t a goddess. Mami Wata wanted to be sure her nymph could have legs, hence why she used a human’s dna to create her. The human woman would be killed, soon after Naila’s creation.

The goddess raised her nymph as any god would, from afar. While she roamed the seas, Naila spent most of her early life on in a freshwater swamp in Jamaica. She tended to the aquatic ecosystem on the plains, healing those who have worship and offerings to Mami Wata and her many aliases, extending her kindness to those who were kind to nature. It wasn’t until a few hundred years that Naila would leave Jamaica and learn roam the seas with mother, venturing to the America’s to carry out her sole purpose: protecting aquatic ecosystems, particularly freshwater swamps.

For Naila’s first 500 years, she worked closely with Mami Wata, sharing her dual relationship to humans. Though, being half human herself made her far more empathetic, sometimes healing those and offering guidance even to nonbelievers of Mami Wata. That was much to her displeasure, causing a major rift between the two beings. And since, Mami Wata severed her relationship to Naila. Before that, Naila respected the hierarchy of supernaturals. Mami Wata wasn’t the first goddess to create a nymph, she’d just done it different than most. It was rare relationships between nymphs and their creators were severed but Naila was a demi, a lot about her was unorthodox.

She’d continue her travels across the many bodies of water between America and the Caribbean, healing humans she deemed as worthy, and smiting those who harmed aquatic life and nature. Like Mami Wata, Naila would lure those she deemed was wicked and unjust into water with a beautiful song and a seductive dance. As soon as they were close enough, they’d meet a demise, rarely ever found again.

As time advanced, she always tried to remain humane and empathic to them, but they continued to disappoint her time and time again. Eventually, Naila’s empathy ran dry when she’d been betrayed by someone close.

Betrayal shifted her perspective once life was taken from her. A man she’d thought to have lover would turn her over into the hands of scientists in exchange for clearance of a crime he’d committed.

Abilities:​

• Naila can seduce and lure not just humans, but other supernaturals into the water with her enchanted song and dance.
• She can create and manipulate a teal-blue substance from water molecules that can take the shape/form of anything: she can change its texture from solid and smooth to rigid, gooey, or even bouncy.
• Limited manipulation of water, larger bodies are hard to control.
• Healing: physical and mental.

Fun Facts:​

• Naila has scales on the top of her feet and the back of her calves; she can breathe under water and swim fast.
• Naila has a deep bond to aquatic life, of course. Particularly snakes.
• She has an immortal companion, Viper. Naila communicates with the immortal snake that is utterly smitten with her. He was Mami Wata prized pet
• Viper’s real name is Akinwunmi. He was once a 60ft malevolent sea creature. Once he disturbed her seas, though, he was not exempt from her wrath. She’d turned into him a 4ft Nerodia water snake. Nerodia snakes are commonly mistaken for venomous, but they aren’t.
• The longer she’s dancing in water, the more dangerous of a tsunami can brew. It’s quite literally a breathtaking sight.
• Naila is not immortal and can be killed by fatal injury. Also, long periods of time away from natural bodies of water.
• Polluted waters are really toxic to her.
• She has a vulnerability to too much sun. She has scales, after all.
• Low tolerance to fire, even lower to fire that isn’t natural.
• Nonbelievers of African or Caribbean folklore would interpret her as an evil entity.
• Naila has elf ears and stands at 5’8.
• She has a slight West African accent that she took from her mother. It’s very faint, but more prominent in her singing voice.
• Unlike most sirens who have a higher, soft tone, Naila’s is heavy and sultry.

Appearance:
Julissa is a light skinned woman. She stands pretty short at 5’4 but is a very curvaceous woman. She is athletic, but naturally a thick woman. She wears her weight in her thighs, hips, and breasts. She has 2 face tattoos on the right side of her face: a heart and ‘love’ that she covers with makeup sometimes. She has a tattoo on her neck as well as a hand tattoo, a cross on the back of her neck, and a few more in isolated places.

Bio:
Julissa was born in Chicago and raised by the south side. She didn’t have either of her parents in the beginning, having been given up to the system immediately after birth. Julissa joked that her mother probably didn’t even hold her, hence her lack of nurturing nature. It was hard growing up in foster care. She spent her early childhood bouncing from house to house. Julissa had been through 4 of them by eight years old, and faced physical and mental abuse through each transition.
Then, she’d finally go back to be with her mother - a total stranger.
Julissa would be completely neglected by her biological mother, she paid no mind to her daughter because she was too busy chasing a man that didn’t love her back. The abuse wasn’t the same as she’d endured in her early years - the physical assault and child labor, not at first. Yet, it felt worse to be ignored by someone who one wanted nothing more than to see them.
Julissa learned to be very self sufficient far sooner than she should’ve had to. She didn’t have any guidance, no one to swoop in and save her. It was just her and the demons of inner city Chicago. Her mother began to harbor resentment to Julissa as she got older, who was out partying and a “popular” girl in school at just 15. Her mother’s jealousy began to show, to which the abuse shifted to something physical. Many times during fights, her mother would express wanting to take away Julissa’s “pretty” and “beat her ‘til she was ugly”. At 16, she’d be emancipated as a minor.
Julissa dropped out of high school, got her GED, and moved to LA. There, her life took a turn for the darker. Juelz was born. She was dancing as a minor to make money and in no time, began escorting.
Julissa was numb to the harshness of the world by 18, and had experienced much more than the average 18 year old. She’d began making friends with women in the club and putting them on game to how to make more money. Julissa didn’t want to dance anymore, and she certainly didn’t want escorting to be her life. But some women certainly didn’t mind, so, Julissa took advantage of that.
She’d begin recruiting girls around her age and “investing” in them. She’d take novice, inexperienced girls or women who were just struggling to make money in the club. She’d help them with their appearance and up their game, and in no time, Julissa was one of the youngest female pimps in LA. By 20, she was known for having “only the baddest bitches”, and made a shit ton of cash doing so.
Though, that wasn’t her only focus. Julissa would begin purchasing property and cleaning her money with real estate.
While in California, she would also meet a woman 4 years older than her - her half sister and her father’s daughter: Morgan. Similar to Julissa, Morgan had been raising herself but on the streets of LA. Julissa hesitated, but brought Morgan in on the scene - they shared ambition and a disregard to rules.
Morgan would handle operating Julissa’s stable as she branched out and pursued other businesses. It wasn’t just about making a way for herself, anymore. She had women looking up to her now, depending on her.
She would move her women to Massachusetts where the clientele was more high class.
Julissa would make a new client of her own - the son of the chief of police in Massachusetts. All of a sudden, she had a small half of the east coast police in her pocket - and a new husband. Julissa met an older man, the son of the chief of police - Kendall Devereux. His family had a long history in law enforcement, and long money. Julissa wooed Kendall easy with her charm, and in no time she was having dinner with his family and striking a deal with Kendall’s father.
Julissa’s women would be safe working in the east coast and her net worth would never be questioned, but she’d marry Kendall. Julissa had no problem playing the game.
At just 22, Julissa was married to a 34 year old and had a 4 year old stepdaughter.
It was a front.

The Present:
Julissa has been “happily” married for 3 years. She and her husband, Kendall ‘Ken’, raise his 7 year old daughter, Mallory, together. They live on the Devereux family estate, portraying the perfect blended family. An urban, self made millionaire like Julissa married into a wealthy, patriotic family bringing some grounding into their privileged lives. And some dirty money. The Devereux’s are completely unaware of Julissa’s sketchy history - all except Kendall’s father who orchestrated some of their current situation.
Though Julissa isn’t in love with Kendall, she likes that he does what she tells him to and doesn’t ask invasive questions.
Off the strength of her own moral code, Julissa had stayed faithful to Kendall. Their marriage might been out of convenience, but a part of her didn’t want to soil his ignorant bliss just yet. It was the least she could do.
The family Devereux’s are well known in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and keep up appearances as a loving, patriotic American family. But Julissa is growing bored of the fake family image. She never saw herself settling down so young and so fast, anyway. But with her own escort empire thriving, an handful of lucrative properties under her belt washing money, and her connections having grown, the usefulness of the marriage is seeming to dwindle and Julissa is beginning to wonder.

• Only Julissa’s ‘bottom bitches’ live in Massachusetts: Jayda, Amber, and Estrella. Her stable consists of 12 women besides her bottoms.​
