SETTING: A gritty, grounded sci-fi universe—think Event Horizon meets Dead Space, with class tension, decaying infrastructure, and a galaxy where the Core Worlds profit and the Outer Colonies bleed.
MC: Captain of Aya—a mid-tier cargo hauler, scarred but reliable. He's independent, no corporate leash, no faction ties. MC took a job that pays too well: transport a sealed container from the mining outpost Halcyon-7 to the medical station Aegis. The manifest is redacted. The client is anonymous.
THE SITUATION: MC posted a notice for a crew. Three people confirmed. None showed. One person arrived—a woman. This is where YC comes in. YC knows very little about the job, she just saw this notice:

CAPTAIN: Ren – Freelance, no corporate affiliation, 6 years independent operation
JOB TYPE: Cargo Transport – One-way run, Halcyon-7 to Aegis Station
PAYMENT: 8,000 credits upon delivery + bonus potential for timely arrival. Half upfront, half on completion.
DURATION: Approx. 5-7 standard days (depending on FTL lane traffic)
CREW NEEDED: 1-2 additional hands. Duties include cargo monitoring, basic ship maintenance, watch rotation, and light combat readiness if necessary.
