Name: Kazuyuki Sakamoto
Nickname: Kazu
Age: 25
Hometown: Aomori, Japan
Occupation: Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon (in residency right now)
Appearance: Standing at 6', Kazuyuki is a thin man with a slight muscular build, akin to that of a man with an athletic stature. He has black hair that goes to the nape of his neck and deep brown eyes. Kazuyuki typically doesn't do anything with his hair, even when it gets on his nerves. His typical outfit includes a button-down shirt and dress pants when he's working. He really likes to wear ties with different characters on them for the kids he works with. When he's home and not at work, Kazuyuki wears slacks and short-sleeved shirts.
Tattoos: A tiny dragon blue dragon tattoo on his inner right wrist and next to it are the kanji for the words "bravery" and "honor". He was branded on his left wrist but since had it covered up with a tattoo of a red, orange, and white koi fish.
Personality:
Positive traits - Affectionate, brave, calm, and level-headed, a little shy, meticulous, old-fashioned, protective of those most precious to him, stubborn at times, quiet, and a perfectionist most of the time.
Negative - Kazuyuki can be a bit bland, cold when having a bad day, has difficulties expressing his emotions, narrow-minded with certain opinions and situations, is secretive, and vindictive to those who wronged him.
Hobbies: Loves to practice Kenjutsu (samurai swordsmanship), origami is something he loves to make, deeply enjoys cooking (especially Japanese cuisine), Japanese calligraphy, and reads a lot of different types of books.
Background: Kazuyuki was born into a traditional Japanese home in the northernmost part of the main Japanese island with his always busy parents and younger sister until he was about 5 when they moved away. Growing up, his parents were never home. His father was a businessman and his mother was a chef at a prolific restaurant. Being in a new country was scary until he met a girl. She was so pretty and so kind to him. This girl helped him to adjust to a new country and culture that he never would've gotten accustomed to on his own. Around 10, he was suddenly ripped away from his friend and forced back to Japan. His life quickly went downhill from there.
During his later teenage years, Kazuyuki started getting into a lot of trouble simply because he was being rebellious towards his parents for leaving his dearest friend behind. He practiced his swordsmanship while doing the dirty work for an infamous gang, using his hobby to his advantage. To show his loyalty to his fellow members, he was branded. He was getting into all kinds of different situations that could've killed him had he not been careful. With this, he was also getting heavily into drinking and smoking.
Kazuyuki was pushed into acting straight again. His parents had allowed him to experience what it was like to be locked up, which he found to be boring, and after several months, and threats by the government, he was let loose. The young man raised his grades, excelled, and straightened himself up after being berated and punished by his parents. He has since moved out of Japan to study elsewhere for his medical degree but he still returns for different festivals.
Extra info: Kazuyuki still practices his Japanese heritage outside of Japan. Wearing traditional Japanese kimonos, practicing swordsmanship, and eating traditional meals.
