Robyn was a sickly baby. It made him a very serious little boy.
The middle son of three, Robyn Randel's father was a strict, hard-faced man. Amis Randel was not cruel though, and he loved each of his sons dearly. A Witch Hunter by trade, he showed his love by preparing his sons for the evils of the world and teaching them to walk The Righteous Path from very early ages, just as his own father had done for him.
Their mother, Shea, by comparison, was a delicate and gentle woman who showered her sons with limitless affection. Unabashedly his mother's favorite son, Robyn often chose to remain with her around the family home when he was given a choice.
A happy, softhearted boy, Robyn had no intention of following in his father's footsteps, unlike his older brother. He learned the ways of a Hunter, how to identify witchcraft, and how to wield a sword, but it was never what he wanted. However, that choice was taken away from him... when he was 13-years-old, both of his parents were brutally murdered by a witch with a grudge against Amis. His mother's death hit him particularly hard and solidified his hatred of witches. Any notion he may have once had of being anything but a Hunter, wholly devoted to a life of eradicating witches and their craft from the world, died with his mother that day.
Orphaned, the brothers spent a few years being passed from place to place. Ultimately the eldest brother, Morris, assumed guardianship of his younger siblings and they opted to make their own way in life. Morris and Robyn garnered a bit of a reputation traveling from town to town, seeking out and executing witches as they went. They eventually tracked down the witch responsible for their parents' deaths. Robyn killed her himself; he was 18-years-old.
