Autumnal Dress to Impress- Dinovember

While not technically a dinosaur... meet Sarcosuchus Imperator, one of the largest crocodilian ancestors. Some of the largest examples found were measured around 32 feet long, but thought possible to get larger depending on neighboring food supplies.

For extra nightmare fuel, here's a comparison of an average Sarchosuchus skull next to a human skull and then a large nile crocodile skull.

If you'd also like to go down a rabbit hole about this general family of ancients, the family they come from is pseudosuchians

I present to you, the sad story of the Dodo. Definitely not as ancient as some of the things posted here, but extinct for a few hundred years now.

While it's not completely proven (and may never be at this point), most theories seem to point that humankind was the cause of this flightless bird's demise. Though likely not 100% caused by humans eating and killing them en masse (it was documented many times that the birds seemed completely fearless of humans, however), there is other proof that humans caused the destruction of their habitats and breeding grounds as well as introducing other animals that didn't exist in their habitats before human interference, which also preyed on the bird. The combination of these things has caused for the Dodo to be used as an early example of human-induced extinction and is now known as an "icon" of extinction.
