A Note from Jum:

It's been a fun year and a wild ride. A WHOLE YEAR?! There was a time I thought I might end the events completely, feeling a little doubtful and uncertain about how much fun people were actually having, or if these games of mine made an impact or brought joy to anyone's day. Were the badges exciting? Enjoyed? I even announced I was done with these and everyone was so damn sweet. Ohmygoshyouguys! I'm sorry, I was in my own head!

If you stuck it out with me, I'm so grateful. Truthfully, I love making these events and seeing everyone dive into them! Fortunately I have a lot of support on site and with everyone's love and encouragement, I found my strength and determination to keep going.

Along this journey, I asked other staff members if they wanted to take over for a month and try their hands at this whole event thing, so don't think I was hogging all of the glory here, because that wasn't the case at all! GremlinSage is one of my partners in crime with these activities. If you participated in the Fortune Teller event, then you saw just how lovely these month games can be when a group of people knock their heads together and organize their thoughts! You might have noticed we even had tellers that weren't on staff, but were really fun volunteers I may have kidnapped, ahem, invited to participate- EVERYTHING WAS CONSENSUAL, GOSH.

Thank you to all of my friends that have helped me along the way, figuring out themes, badge ideas, and listening to me ramble on as I try to figure out what my next idea might blossom into.

Oh! And, somewhere along the way, I accidentally spilled my pretty pink paint onto firefly! After slowly coaxing her to the water, she finally decided to drink- Just kidding, I totally grabbed her arm and yanked her in so we could be little art bugs together!

Dress to Impress!

I'm bringing it back, folks! Get your fins on, everyone, it's a throwback to MERMAY. It's the same mermaid tail badge from last year, so if you have it already and just want to participate to play with us, please feel free! And, hey, if you missed out on badges last year, now is the chance to start collecting them. If you're new here, oh my gosh, welcome! Let's play a game!

Here are the Rules:
This month's aesthetic, mermaids!

First, I'm requiring your pfp to be something in the realm of your version of a mermaid. I think last year Otys was a plate of cooked fish...? But, it's Otys, it fits. Be your genuine self here when you participate and really make it your own. But please try.

Second, feature one other change to fit the theme, such as, a banner or signature. You can also change your custom title as well. I will specify that your signature can have a quote about mermaids (or closely related subjects) displayed in text, or you can have something under your username, such as "McMerman the Glitter Boss."
You don't have to add images into your signature!

To earn a badge, you must have your pfp as a mermaid, plus one of the other items from the list below.

This can be any combination of pfp (profile picture) plus:

• Banner art
• Signature art or appropriate customization
• Custom title

You do not have to draw or make the art yourself (but you can), just dress up for the occasion! We have a theme with mermaids, too, it's called Aquatic, for any that are unfamiliar.

Once you complete your look, let me know. Post a screenshot of your finished look in the thread for a mermaid tail badge. You can change your aesthetic back after posting if you dislike parting with your standard look and style. The goal is to have fun, not to make anyone uncomfortable.

If you're after that cutie turtle badge, this is where you need to be. Again, feel free to play along and post even if you already have the badge!
