Greetings, fellow Sanctum members:
As some of you may or may not know, my name is Faye. I lurk sometimes in chat, but I have been meaning to do a Request Thread. I have been role-playing for nearly fifteen years. Am I perfect? Absolutely not! However, I have certain expectations, limits, pairings and so forth. And so, without further ado, please continue down!
Expectations
I like to role-play with details. I cannot work with a few measly sentences. I ask that you give me at least two paragraphs. Those paragraphs may contain 4-6 sentences. I don't mean to be picky here, but I lose inspiration really fast if I'm not working with basics, the 5W's and 1H: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How.
Please be sure to write coherently. Don't type as if you're sending cute texts with emojis and all that crap--that can be saved for OOC. Also, I am not a grammar nazi--I am mainly looking at content overall, but then again, we do have spellchecker for these kinds of things. Just don't write a super sloppy post, and we'll be fine.
In addition, I completely understand if you become busy with life. I work full-time and I do have other hobbies besides role-play. I make it my best to post twice a week. If anything happens, I am pretty good at PMing my writing partners and updating them when things come up. Just be sure to update me as well and don't disappear off the face of the planet. Not cool.
Role-Play writing is amazing! I want us to create beautiful stories together, but I also like to get to know my writing partner. We can OOC and work through our story. It's nice to just relax and talk every now and then, just to check in and see where we are. And no, I'm not going to share personal information and vice versa. We're here to have fun and create wonderful stories and experiences
I am okay with certain control over characters--just make sure to ask me first if you plan to do something extraordinarily bizarre. I will not be okay with you killing my characters, unless we are working through our story. Just don't do it.
Genres
I will play the following genres and provide explanations why I play or do not play them. To add to that, most of my story-lines will have more story and more plot. However, certain pairings listed below can be just purely smut. I just ask that you keep things interesting if we go for the latter. That's all. ^^
Fantasy (High and Low/Supernatural): Movies such as Robin Hood, Disney's Sword in the Stone, and Alice in Wonderland, The Never-ending Story, Labyrinth have inspired me to really put this genre at the top of my list, just because there so many options in this category.
Contemporary/Modern: Whether you want to do a Slice-of-Life role-play or have intense action and drama, I am open to many ideas with every-day worlds and settings. I particularly enjoy working with settings outside the U.S. Not to say we can choose the states, but something about traveling to foreign destinations pique my imagination. I have visited the following countries: France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Turkey. I am open to more settings than my shortlist here, but let's add some culture in there every now and then.
Psychological Thrillers: When I think of thrillers I am often referenced to the following movies: The Silence of the Lambs, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Fight Club, The Departed, The Prestige. Some people are absolutely turned off by this genre, but I adore it. However, for the past couple of years, I haven't been able to play this type out, and I don't have any exact reasons. It's definitely a genre I like to store and try and build upon. I'll probably have to update the thread at some point whenever I come up with a juicy story idea.
Horror: I thank my brother for introducing me to the horror genre. Did I have nightmares at four years old? Yes, yes, I did. But fear is actually a big turn-on for me. It's that element of surprise, that fear of making it out alive, where you are put in a life-or-death situation. If you like dark and scary, I am open to all kinds of ideas here. I am also going to blend in dystopian themes in here, especially when it comes to the Zombie Apocalypse.
Historical: This one I'm a bit particular with. Here's a shortlist of time periods I'll play: Golden Age of Piracy, Sengoku Period, Victorian/Industrial Revolution in Britain, 1920's Mafia, Prohibition, etc., World War II, and Viking Age. Also, any of these historical settings can be blended with fantastical elements, or horror/murder mystery, whodunit scenarios.
Romance: When it comes to romance, I like controversial romances, tabooed romances and slight dark ones as well. Let's face it. We live in regular society and we have conventional norms. When I role-play I want to explore forbidden and uncharted territories. I am also open to light-to-moderate BDSM. I'll throw some pairings below to demonstrate what I mean.
Fandoms: I will do certain Anime, Disney and certain TV show fandoms. I'll list the pairings below.
Science-Fiction: This is a gray area for me. I don't have much experience writing sci-fi stories, but if you are, please take me under your wing, so I can learn more! Some enjoyable movies I've watched include: Star Wars, Alien, E.T., The Terminator, Ex Machina, Donnie Darko (which can also be classified as a thriller as well).
Characters and Pairings
I will either play a female or a male character. I also play supernatural characters, humanoid characters that resemble humans as much as possible and kemonomimi (animal-eared) people--not to be confused with anthros or furries. I will not play futas, traps or furries. Never have been interested; however I would be willing to experiment with your character if he/she is a trap, futa, or a blend of anthro-humanoid. I find them intriguing, but not my personal preference to play as one/them. In addition, most of my characters will be at least seventeen and up. If I play children, they are mostly for the sake of NPCs or sometimes side characters, but never the main interest of the story.
I mostly role-play MxF, MxM. I would be open to do FxF, depending on the context though. But those would be my ranked preferences.
