My Writing Style
I tend to lean towards a paragraph or more, as far as style goes. I like to have as much detail as possible so as to envelop the readers into the story. For example:
I stepped into a beautiful mansion, knowing that this was the beginning of a grand adventure.
Vs
I walked up the white marble steps, passed through the double doors leading into the white and gold entry way, and instantly my heart stopped. It was a moment of clarity as I let my gaze take in the scene before me. The dawning of the fact that this step marked the beginning of my journey.
Someone who likes to add the little details would be the ideal partner for me. I like to bring the magic back I to writing, and am looking for someone who shares that mindset.
Posting Frequency
I suppose I'm not entirely sure what my own frequency will be yet, as I'm just getting back into the swing of things. I would hope at least once daily would be good, as the place where I work gives me time to do at least that.
Story vs Smut
I am all about the story. I enjoy writing that captivates, and as such its less about how sexy or bloody, and more about the flow of the story. This is not to say that if the flow of the tale calls for a romantic scene that I would be less keen to detail. I just don't want it to be the focus.
The Setting I have in Mind
The main thought I have is that it takes place in a world between worlds. A tear in the fabric of time and space had transported people from different origins to this strange island. There a doors to other realms hidden in trees, caves, even lakes and rivers. The task is simple, the people who are here would like to go home. The question is simple. How do they get there? The solution is difficult... It is still unknown.
