Hello there! I'm Dhaeric, or Ric. Been meaning to expand my RP circles and peek at some other communities out there and honestly, after reading around on here a bit, I'm a little irritated with myself that I hadn't come here sooner!
I'm British and go by he/him, I'm over 18, and I work full time. I've been writing RP for about ten years, and I adore character creation and expressing them through writing rather than hypothesising (though ofc the latter is great too if it's to brainstorm). I get rather attached to favourites and they quickly become real, and I have a particular love of creating rich NPCs to add to their world.
I mostly write male characters, and prefer that, but I am comfortable with occasionally writing female or other too. Third person, past tense, on the most part. And I don't think I have any limits or no-go areas, except extreme cruelty to living animals, and age play. I usually write fantasy - of varying types - but honestly I'm entirely open as long as the plot interests me. Romance or sex-wise, I prefer M/M but again, I'm open to everything. I like smut and am happy (and sometimes keen) to include it in my writing, but I do prefer there to be plot too. Writing smut for smut's sake can lose my interest quickly otherwise. I'm definitely plot-driven, and if I find a writing partner who matches and works well with me I will likely want to do more with you and/or create a long-term plot with. And which has probably already become pretty clear in this paragraph: up for anything, hahah.
My writing length is adaptable and I tend to match my partners, but I always struggle to properly feel engaged in RP that is short. I'm a multi-para to novella writer by preference, I would think. I will disengage from a thread if my partner isn't giving me enough to work with, but I will likely tell you so first to try to work together on it. I can, however, be quite slow to reply sometimes as RL is a bit hectic atm, but I'm also patient with my partners because of that too. I would prefer we kept an open dialogue about delays, etc. so no one is left hanging!
