Hello! My name is Kara and quarantine has got me losing my mind. Hopefully everyone else's is going okay!
So, I have recently found myself with too much time, way too much time, on my hands. I rewatched the Fantastic Beasts movies and have found myself craving an RP!
I actually have two other threat postings and I will link them below if you would like to check them out. I decided that since I was craving this fandom specifically at the moment I would post a thread dedicated to it.
I have three main ideas for an RP revolving around Newt Scamander. I want to put this out here I will bold it even, I am looking for someone to play Newt Scamander for my OC.
That being said, I am willing to double and play a character for you, even Newt if you really wanted. I know what you are saying, "you just bolded the fact that you wanted me to play Newt for you". Yes, I am saying I am willing to have two RPs independent of one another, one where you play Newt for me and another where I play Newt for you. (Yeah, I am a little desperate sorry!)
Idea One and Two are being played out but I still want to include them because there are many ways they can go and I am always interested to see the different paths! Three is completely open. I am also open to ideas! I am super bendy.
I wanted to mention here before the ideas, I have some personal rules. I know rules are boring but important because I don't want to start chatting and then us learn that we RP in such a way that we don't make good partners:
- No one liners! I am a paragraph writer! I want to post more than a few lines! I really want to create a story with you! I understand that not every post can be longer than a paragraph and that is okay! However, I do not want three or four sentences and that be it! Sooo, you may not want to bark up this tree if you don't like read a bulk of words!
- Please please don't ghost me. There is nothing I hate more than typing out an intense starter. Something that I took a lot of time to type and then find a good title for, just to be completely ignored. If you think that you aren't interested in the RP, it is okay to tell me! Please tell me before we start if you aren't feeling it after all.
- If you lose interest, teellll meeeeee! I promise I will not be mad! Maybe we can rework it! Maybe we can start a new RP! I am in this for the partners as well! I will bend to you as much as you need me to, just tell me!
- Be somewhat responsive. I am a masters degree seeking student with a full time job. I understand that we cannot simply respond every hour or everyday. I will not be mad! Just keep me updated! I will do my best to give you the same treatment. If it has been a minute and I haven't responded send me a message! I may have not seen the alert or something might being happening behind the scenes!
- Lastly but not leastly, please if we are roleplaying together do not skip over my characters actions, control my character or flat out ignore parts of the post. There are some details that absolutely can be ignored or skimmed over, but if my character directly talks to yours and you just ignore that dialog and move the RP forward, I may be a bit upset. I like to move slow in RP's, I am not in a hurry to get anywhere anytime soon. I don't mean crawling speed, just not blink and there is sex.
- If you have made it thus far, what is your favorite color? I am color blind but my favorite is red.
Newt Scamander has been imprisoned for an accident involving a creature. The ministry was going to kill all of the creatures inside of the case. Deeming them as dangerous and a threat to wizard life. Before the case can be disposed of a Witch(My OC) working for the ministry collecting and rehabilitating creatures across the world, steps up and demands the case be released to her. She begins taking care of the animals within the case and eventually is assigned a task that is too much for her too handle alone, but the ministry needs it done. They need it done so much so they make the mistake of agreeing to give her whatever she needs to get it done.
Her request is simple: "Newt Scamander".
This idea would revolve around my OC getting Newt Scamander out of Azkban and enlisting his help with an assignment that is too big for her to handle. The plot would follow their friendship as it grows to being more than that; all the while they are saving animals and traveling the world on one huge mission.
Details about the mission will come within the RP.
You are free to chose why Scamander ended up in Azkban. I know I have a reason up there, but you are welcome to change that.
There are many things that are bendable about this plot, other than my character.
Newt Scamander has finally gotten the funding and backing to write his book. He quickly sees that his penmanship is not the best and it is almost too much work to care for creatures and rewrite readable notes. He decides to hire an assistant to travel along side him and help him with the creatures and his notes. My character is the lucky lady chosen.
It can be entirely up to you how Newt chose her. Or if you don't want that I can explain how she was chosen. Again, I am very bendy.
This plot is much more slice of life. Where it would follow Newt and my character travelling the world and documenting animals. It would follow their friendship as it changes from friends to more than that.
Again this is one of those it can be left completely up to the RP or we could talk about it before.
There would be some action moments in there as well. Working with creatures comes with close calls and injuries.
Alright this idea is not as fully thought out. Its more open than the others. Newt Scamander runs into a former classmate while studying a creature. She too was studying the creature. She isn't like the others at all. She isn't afraid of the animals, instead she wants to be near it. She cares less about their home and more about the beast itself. Almost like a mythical creatures vet. Or she is an artist who is drawing the creatures.
Again this is very open and it is very slice of life and would focus entirely on their friendship melting into a relationship.
They introduce each other to new things. Newt introduces her to ice staking. She introduces him to theater and art.
It is not as developed as the others its just meant to be a lot of cute fluff and sweetness.

I honestly love smut in an RP! I would love to include it in this RP as well. I know Newt is awkward and a bit shy. However, I don't think that means he wouldn't have sex at all. We can talk more about it in a PM and what not.
I just wanted to mention that I love details in general. The more we type the better to me. Now I get it, there is only so many words to say someone is sitting in a chair. I am not asking you to push a scene that is done and over with.
That being said if we do get to a smutty scene I would prefer more than "he touched her boob". Something along the lines of "He ran his callused hand along her smooth skin..." Is so much better than the former.
