Cleopatra was born into a world of privilege that she didn't ever feel fully comfortable in. She
found most people her family associated with utterly boring and didn't enjoy the duplicitous
world of wealth. Her one bright spot was her mother Carmella. Carmella never forced Cleo
to any parties she didn't want to attend and when her father, Magnus, was pushing for her to
join the local debutantes Carmella was the one who persuaded him to change his mind. Being
an only child, she was the apple of her parent's eyes, so a lot was expected of her. This has
left Cleo with a steely veneer, she appears to those who do not know her as a spoilt, little
rich girl. Simply an airhead with nothing on her mind but the latest fashion and how she can
secure an invite to the best parties. In actuality, nothing could be further from the truth. Cleo
is intelligent and observant, she has been privy to her father's business deals for as long as
she can remember and with all that she's seen, she's prepared to ruin him.
Her mother passed away when she was 17. Things with the business went slowly downhill
for a while as her father simply wasted their wealth on meaningless rubbish and shoddy
deals. Fortunately, as Cleo had usually been around for his deals in the past, she had struck
up a close friendship with the business' accountants. She met with them herself and discussed
the state of the business, managing to salvage enough of the company's assets that she
stopped the business from going under and helped them to start to rebuild going forward.
Her father stood back up to the helm and acts as the figurehead of sorts for the business,
she likes to keep the information of her involvement as private as possible. She's quite
content to be underestimated and dismissed simply as his disinterested daughter. Even
her father doesn't know the extent to which she saved the business, the accountants keeping
quiet on their dealings with her.
Since her mother's passing, Cleo has become aware that her father is dealing with powerful
people who have been helping him deal with what he deems as 'obstacles to his success'.
A few businessmen in the same field have recently gone missing or been gravely injured in
accidents. Cleo has become suspicious and knows that the money they have accrued is in
no way enough to cover all of the little schemes her father has arranged. Cleo has been attending
his meetings and keeping an eye out, but thus far, she can't figure out exactly who has been
helping him.
