Hi, I'm Hightower, this thread will be a bit of a perpetual work in progress, but considering I lost my big draft I'll try and get something basic out and go from there. I'm exclusively looking for stories that take place in the world of a Song of Ice and Fire with a lean towards the books, but with the right plot I can be swayed towards stories that adhere towards the canon of the shows. I'm a massive fan of the franchise and have a strong level of knowledge of the world, though I'm happy to plot something out with people of all different walks in the franchise, whether you know more than me, or you're new to the world! I tend to write between 4-5 paragraphs to several but I am somewhat flexible with the overall post length in certain scenes as long as there is enough to go by, if it's natural it's natural. I'm looking for an overall persistent writing schedule, at least a handful of replies a week. It is of course completely fine to take a break, IRL gets in the way or sometimes as writers we need to recharge our batteries, but as long as the scene progresses at a steady rate. If we're only replying once a week, then the first month of the roleplay might not get past the initial meeting. I don't ask anyone to commit to any sort of quota like one reply a day or anything like that, which I may not often meet - just to beg the question whether or not in a months time we can make a nice amount of progress into our story.
When it comes to smut, once again I won't really mention any sort of percentage, I am looking to write smut; but how much just depends on what feels write in the story, though it should at least be a decent amount, a slow burn story about enemies to lovers in an arranged marriage may move a lot slower than a story starting with themes of seduction, there are other ways to make a story fun of course and if we can also dabble in themes like tension, frustration and anything of the sort, even better. Whilst I never tend to write anything really extreme especially in a sexual context, do let me know your limits just to be sure. The world of ASOIAF is dark and I'm not afraid of writing certain aspects of that, though in a romantic context I do not go too far. I'm fine with darker romances and some aspects being dubious, especially by modern standards but I do enjoy writing the positive aspects of romance too. In the world as a whole - it's ASOIAF; people die, bad things happen to good people, there is tragedy, these are elements I can write. Whilst I'm not particularly interested in a slice of life as a whole, calmer chapters can be as fun as the most chaotic ones. A chapter about a quiet day at a beach can help me understand a character as much as the sack of a city.
One thing I will say is over the past decade or so, I've roleplayed in this franchise a lot, whether it be discord, this forum, or others. I've had roleplays that have lasted years and others that have dwindled pretty quickly but I find that having a good level of OOC discussion helps a lot to be able to steer the story in a right direction, even if we just keep it formal. That's not to say I'm against making friends either, I'm more than happy to make moodboards, dabble in new AUs, talk about the latest episode of House of the Dragon and so on. As long as it's not just radio silence.
I'm happy to double and enjoy it, especially when we can explore the contrast between both couples. One thing I particularly enjoy is scenes that take place at a future date after the first couple is established that might focus on the next generation, as an example I once wrote a Targaryen who come to marry a woman from a noble house in Dorne, then one of the next characters we wrote involved their heir and his love interest, but it was fun being able to write a character inspired and raised by characters I've written. That is something I'd be particularly grateful for but not at all necessary either. Likewise, if you are interested and you find yourself looking between two OCs of yours and you're unsure about which one to chose, send them both over, I'm happy to create a character to mirror yours. Especially for characters that may not have had a chance to find the spotlight yet.
Though as a disclaimer, I do not tend to write canon characters who have a large amount of source material behind them. It's a personal thing but with characters heavily featured in the books I would find that personally, I'm constantly referring to the wiki, or wondering how that character would act and pondering on it rather than just letting the creative juices flow. I'm interested in writing canon characters that are not featured as much and have a fair bit of flexibility around them or original characters.

I am interested in playing characters from a large swathe of houses, particularly House Targaryen and Velaryon, but for general reference I will not be including the both of them in this list under the name of the Crownlands as they are generally a tier above that. I am flexible with what I can play and can be convinced to play most of the major houses and their bannermen, but as a general rule of thumb this list will go through the regions of Westeros in the order of how much I'd want my character to hail from there. I am interested in playing against characters from these regions and this list may change. Just because one region is low on what I'd wish to play, does not effect playing against a character from that region. I'm happy to account for your OCs!
