Hi there! My name is DemonsWish and I've been around here for a little bit but this is the first time I'm throwing an orphaned story into this thread! I really loved the premise of this story, just kind of ticked all the boxes I've been kinda itching for, and am tentatively hoping to have someone bring it to life with me once again!
Just to let you know right off the bat I am looking for someone to play a High-Class flirtatious male of some fantasy race fitting the story guidelines below. For this story I am looking to restart it completely using the same starter and the same character I created originally for it.
Anyway! Now that you know what role I'm hoping to fill here is the actual information on the roleplay itself.
Wow! Okay, I know that was a lot but thank you for (hopefully) getting through all that with me. As I said before I just really liked this roleplay and unfortunately it only got 3 posts in before it had to be sadly given up. If this interested you at all feel free to send me a message and we can talk about it all further if desired. Thank you and I hope you have a disastrously good day!

Setting: Modern Day, Low Fantasy
Pairings: CEO x Bartender, Dragon-Shifter x Human, Sugar Daddy x Sugar Baby
Pairings: CEO x Bartender, Dragon-Shifter x Human, Sugar Daddy x Sugar Baby
In this world fantasy creatures reign with an iron fist. Over the millennia that humans came to an understanding with the other fantasy races and started living along side them, humans themselves started to slowly become more and more rare amongst the more dominant genes of the other races. As humans became far more rare and struggled to keep their hold on any power the other fantasy races quickly swooped in and built a new hierarchy. Modern day consists of a democracy run by exclusively fantasy races. Though democracy is used loosely as magic truly determines how much power a person holds against the rest nation. Those with more innate strength and magical prowess are thrown immediately high up into the hierarchy and sometimes looked at like untouchable Gods depending on what fantasy species is around.
The top spots of the hierarchy is seen as follows: Mystical Creature Shifters (Dragons, Basilisks, Chimeras, etc), Vampires, Witches/Warlocks, Elves, Werewolves. These are the fantasy creatures that when seen out in the cities are thought of as near royalty depending on what they are and what they control. At the bottom end of the hierarchy are as follows: Sirens/Mermaids, Tabaxis, Most half breeds of any kind, Giants, Dwarves. Why these races are at the bottom are either because their magic abilities are outlawed or weakened, they simply do not possess magic, or their population is very low. These creatures are often the ones seen doing more grunt work around cities and more along the lines of seen and not heard. Obviously there are many different fantasy species running in the streets, and most others will be in the middle of the hierarchy on one side or the other. Humans would technically be at the lowest rung of this hierarchy below everyone else however they are viewed a bit differently. The government is sworn to give all living humans help to a degree for living expenses simply so they can survive, but help does not go out beyond that. Public opinion of humans varies from some species thinking of them as useless to others thinking they are more cute and treating them as pets more than anything.
While the nations of the world are controlled by those able to wield magic magic itself is not everywhere nor is it something easily accessible. Those that are born with strong magical inclinations know they are at the top of the food chain and guard that fact very close to their heart. That doesn't mean magic is no where, however, it simply means things infused with magic often cost more or are seen as high value items. Medicines often are infused with magic, witches or warlocks may offer charming services for a variety of things, transport vehicles are infused with magic as well, etc. Think of a simplified version of modern time with some hints of magic mixed in on occasion. That doesn't mean the world is all rainbows and unicorns. There are still slums and criminals. Fantasy creatures that are on the lower side of the hierarchy tend to struggle due to not being able to find much work that will allow them to climb. Without magic, or useful magic, many creatures end up struggling to make ends meet while those with magic and power are able to live lavish lives.

The story for the actual roleplay itself was something as follows:
My character is a human bartender just barely being able to make ends meet by working every night in the upscale bar she had been graciously hired at. When she returns home she is met with the piles of medical bills from her mother who is suffering from a mystery magical illness that has been slowly plaguing the human population over the years. Life is, and has been, dreary for MC but her love for her mother and understanding of the way the world around her works keeps her trying everyday.
Your character is a high ranking shifter (Due to the fact I am looking to start this rp over, I am willing to discuss other fantasy races that are still within the high ranking parameters if you don't want to play a shifter.). His background can keep of your own making. The only thing that needs to be prevalent is that they own and run businesses that make sense for the setting (law firms, shipping yard, hospitals, etc) and he should be flirtatious/out spoken. Another thing is that while he would be the CEO YC would not be the actual face of the businesses. Whether his father is still in the picture or maybe he just isn't super into doing functions so he has someone else do it, his face is not super well known past being a powerful magical creature.
How do our characters meet when their is such a difference in standing? Well they meet at MC bar during her shift, of course. The idea was that it would likely be the first time YC had some into MC bar, and since humans are so rare, especially in a lavish bar full of fantasy creatures YC finds MC intriguing. Her no bullshit attitude towards her patrons despite the fact she holds no real scare factor what so ever should be something your character finds cute, alluring, amusing, something positive that would make him want to talk to her despite her obvious apprehension. Despite MC reservations the two would talk and she would find YC not so terrible like the rest of her patrons. From there YC would ask MC if they'd be willing to go on a date. It wouldn't be until the 2nd or 3rd date that MC would confide in YC about her situation of medical bills and debt due to her mother.
Feeling bad for the human YC has come to like YC would offer to pay off the medical debt and any other debt she has managed to accrue along with a month allowance for everyday and other expenses. MC wouldn't believe him at first until she is given proof (showing bank account or something along those lines). From there their relationship can really start blossoming as MC navigates a far less stressful life and YC navigates his growing feels for the little human he's found. However not everything is going to go smooth forever. As our characters spend more time together, YC taking MC out for trips, dressing her up, showing her the luxuries of life, etc. MC ends up the target for one of YC's business rivals who is known for his under the table tactics. As said rival starts to show up more frequently in MC's life it becomes apparent she is in danger and YC would need to help keep her safe.

Heavy bass and electronic music filled her ears as Roselia raced a rag along the dark hardwood top of her bar. The dance floor was sparsely filled with life as creatures high and low danced around each other, bumping and grinding while their already sloppy voices attempted to carry the melody of whatever the DJ decided to play. How mythical creatures could already get plastered at only 10 pm was beyond her. Even if the alcohol she served was specifically meant for those with magical metabolism it still made her raise a brow as she watched them all down shot after shot as soon as the door opened. It was just their way of finally letting go she supposed, and even if it was a little odd their pension for nightlife paid her bills - well what she could pay of them at least.
Over the vibrating sound of the music rattling her brain, she heard the telltale squeak of one of the bar stools down the length of the bar top. One of the few perks of working with a mass of mystical creatures was that even if the music vibrated her bones it wasn't as loud as some of the nonmagical bars she'd worked in. They kept the volume lower than normal to accommodate the heightened-hearing patrons, something she was secretly grateful for since her poor human ears felt like their pop some nights when the crowds got rowdy. Looking up from her cleaning she spotted her newest client. A vampire with short, flowy chestnut hair, skin paler than moonlight, and a sleeveless purple dress hugging her curves that looked more like a teenager would wear instead of a vampire.
"Good evening, Yvette." Rose said quietly as she set her rag down next to the sink and made her way over to the regular that awaited her service. Normally bartenders were meant to be loud, going home with a strained voice on more than one occasion had taught her that, but this club allowed for merciful quietness occasionally.
"Good evening, Rosebud." The vampiress purred, leaning her arms on the bar top and resting her head on her hands. "It seems so stuffy in here tonight. Maybe you have some time to come and play with me?" There was a hidden snicker to the woman's voice, a touch of pompousness that made Roselia have to swallow down a scoff. The club's regulars were the worst when it came to goading her, especially ones who knew they had far more power.
Instead of dignifying the vampire with a reaction Roselia kept her face neutral as she turned behind to start grabbing a few bottles of liquor. "Would you like your usual to start?" Once the vampire gave her a confirmation noise she set about making the blood daiquiri. It didn't have actual blood in it - thankfully the government prohibited the distribution of fresh blood outside of a hospital - but it used a synthetic syrup to give it a sharp coppery taste. Whatever it was she knew that most vampires always asked her to spike their drink with it. "There's a new bar that opened up tonight a block or two to the west. Boss thought about being closed tonight but he wanted to make sure everyone had a place to go when they realized it wasn't as good as this place."
Almost immediately her words made the vampire laugh with an open mouth, putting her shiny white fangs on display momentarily. "Did he say that with his own mouth? Oh - what am I saying of course he did." She tittered as Roselia set the freshly made drink in front of her on a coaster. The poor human really hated cleaning rings off her countertop even if it was a losing battle. "Is he in tonight? Or is he slinking away with one of his mistresses?" Yvette finally pushed the sunglasses that rested on her nose up into her hair as he took a sip from her drink, making blood-red eyes meet Rose's silver ones before she looked away.
"He may be upstairs. I don't get paid to keep tabs on him." The blonde huffed as she turned her attention to behind the counter, putting away the bottles she'd used, and started collecting shot glasses. There was a young group of Tieflings on the dance floor that had requested shot rounds every twenty minutes. If it wasn't for the fact she'd read the handbook over multiple times till the alcohol tolerances of nearly every race were burned into her brain she'd have smacked them over the head. Besides, apparently, it was the birthday of one of them which meant they'd want to be shit-faced by the end of the night. So long as she made sure they didn't pass out on the dance floor she'd keep her license.
Grabbing a bottle of vodka and raspberry syrup she started filling the glasses. Meticulously drizzling syrup around the edges to make it look like blood, as per their request, before filling it just to the brim with the clear alcohol. As she worked she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and once the last shot glass was filled she turned sternly towards Yvette. "You know the rules. If you want someone to stare at and drool over go over to Xavier's bar." She said with a wave of her head to a vague area across the club.
Yvette simply laughed, some of her daiquiri sloshing from her trembles. "Such big threats for such a tiny thing. You're the only human in a few mile radius that would stay out after dark, of course, I'm going to drool." The vampire snickered, an all too happy smirk tugging at her thin lips. Roselia knew she was harmless in her teasing, many creatures did the same thing because seeing a human so close always seemed to make them feel superior, but it needled her nonetheless.
"Go on before I cut you off for the night." She said with a huff as she watched the crimson eyes of a predator widen and narrow.
"Alright, alright. You'd think you were the big bad wolf around here and not Garret at the door." Yvette gracefully stood from the bar, one hand up in surrender, before she took another sip of her drink. "I will be back for another one of these. You always make them perfectly." The praise was meant to soothe, Rose knew that, but all the vampire got in response was a huff and a hum before she turned to leave and bother the other bartender for the night. Once Roselia was sure the vampire wouldn't raise another fuss she turned back to the inside of her bar and decided she'd start chopping some lemons so she'd have them on hand.
