Bittersweet Reverie

Salutations, fellow Sanctumists!
My site name is Bittersweet Reverie (or "Rev", for short) and it is a pleasure to get myself back into the swing of the play-by-post, social-roleplaying scene in a medium full of like-minded individuals who would want nothing more but to escape into worlds vicariously through the characters that are soon to be created. Whether those worlds are set in fantastical lands or are grounded in realism, escapism and immersion are paramount to keep the story (or stories) fun, engaging, and exciting; or, at the very least, keeps my mind busy from the outside world.
My mental health needs it. Your mental health needs it. We might as well play-pretend with our own creations and forget the world for a little while. Or, if you're not the writing type, I do have a vault of TikToks and other hobbies that we could share, laugh, and discuss about. My inbox will always be open for conversations and adventures big or small. <3
But to conclude this introductory post I ramble on for too long, I will give ya'll brief information about myself and my writing preferences. Not a whole lot, however. That'll be reserved for my request thread(s) later down the road.
I am a twenty-something-year-old woman who works in the field of healthcare. I live in a small town in the Midwest, and it's nothing interesting. My skills are being an effective communicator at work and being a comfortable introvert at home. My favorite band currently is The Paper Kites, and my favorite book series is The Wheel of Time... whenever I have the time and headspace to finish The Fires of Heaven. Hobbies outside of reading are watching videos on YouTube, listening to true crime and cult podcasts, exploring new artists to satisfy my earholes, finish word search puzzles and video games, and watch TikTok at the wee hours of the night.
As a writer, my favorite genres to work with are fantasy, romance, and comedy. World-building, plot progression, and character development are imperative to me if we are collaborating with long-term stories, but I do not oppose playing games in the short-term either. As long as it has a beginning, a middle, and an end I am totally fine with it. Dark topics and exploring certain "trigger" subjects are not my thing to venture on in my stories, so most of the stories we will tell will lean more on the light-hearted, struggle-to-victory side of things. Sure there will be conflict, but any mention of abuse between characters for sexual gratification or as an act of dominance won't fly here.
LGBTQ+, POC (people of color), POR (people of race), furry, disability, and gender-spectrum friendly.
