Ahoy, good passerby!

I'd like you to consider me for your upcoming or ongoing RP -- whatever it might revolve around -- for a wide variety of reasons I will now elaborate on. Buckle up and bear with me, I'm sure there's something in my literary arsenal to catch your attention, he.

Genres, we can't make a do without them, can we? I'm an avid fan of the following genres:
  • Historical and A-historical fiction, especially if said fiction takes place between the Early Middle Ages and the Late Modern Era. We could be plotting against Charlemagne to seize the Frankish crown for ourselves today and circumnavigating the globe in search of exotic goods and unmet tribes tomorrow. Note that, I dislike the idea of RPs "on rails," if that makes sense. I prefer instead to stray away to some extent from the source material to make some room for our own narrative, and the twists and turns it's got in store.
  • Low and High Fantasy. Do you thirst for skirmishes among beings of fairy tales the size of Tolkien? Would you rather dabble in the art of arcane? If not, does your heart yearn for a tale grounded more in the brutal actuality of medieval routine? You're in luck! I'm pre-programmed to conjure up such stories in a heartbeat. In fact, I'd love to leave the realm of historical fiction for once in favour of a setting more... quaint in nature.
  • Supernatural and Modern, which I often serve with a touch of suspense and a lovely sip of horror if the setting permits it. We could have a vampiric romance endangered by the paranoia of human society, or have an ordinary investigation pave way for the constables straight into the werewolf's jaws. Or, if you so desire, we may challenge the boundaries of human comprehension and have our proteges face abominations lurking about in the woods and driving strangers bonkers.
  • Science Fiction and Science Fantasy. My sweetest childhood memories always have something to do with the fantastic masterpieces of Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, not to mention the cinematic works of George Lucas, Stanley Kubrick, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostbyn, just to name a few. I'm ready to exploit a network of wormholes to travel across the galaxy as a daring bounty hunter or investigate unidentified spacecraft off the Martian orbit as a mere Earthly astronaut.
You might've noticed there's no mention of fandoms, AUs and the likes. This has to do with the fact I'm interested far more in home-made tales, if you catch my drift. Still, I urge you not to give up and move on too early and instead to pitch me all your ideas, even if they might not necessarily align with my preferences too well. I'm very open-minded, and I don't bite -- unless you want me to, of course.

Now-now, we've got the genres settled. But what's a story without a set of Themes, eh? Here's a list of themes and subjects I'd love to see woven into whatever story we come up with -- per se or altogether; in whichever way, shape or form we see fit:
  • Romance, for it is a given these days. It's not mandatory, by any means, but it'd absolutely spice things up for me a notch. Suffice it to say that I've always fancied in-character romance for many reasons, the sense of narrative completion being among them. I'm fine with chimming in a minute of eroticism every once in a while, provided it doesn't involve anything extreme, but I wouldn't want a serious and drawn-out RP centred solely on love-making.
    • That said, if you pick me for a more... piquant and provocative session, I'd be glad to provide, as long as no fetishes are involved.
    • While on the subject of romance, I'd also like to mention sexual orientation and gender hardly matter to me. MxF, MxM, FxF and everything in between I'm fine with -- no options off the table.
  • Drama. I'm not afraid to have my characters go through hardships they might not survive, as well as betrayals, twists and other unexpected and undesirable circumstances we all strive to avoid. However, it'd be lovely if we could let each other know what our creations were about to suffer.
  • Doubling I can pull off with relative ease, depending on how complicated and demanding the RP it's required for is. Keep in mind, however, that tripling and going even further beyond I personally consider an overkill. It takes me a while to write, spell-check and put out replies, and having more than 1-2 characters often puts me in a timely predicament.
With themes and genres established, we must hammer out a proper dressing for our story. A couple of Standards I personally adhere to includes:
  • 3rd person, past tense. Unless the story merits an alternative take, I prefer to write in 3rd person, past tense, as it's the most comfortable choice of time and perspective for me.
  • Up to 3-4 paragraphs. I tend to type away 3-4 paragraphs a reply, save for cases when there's no material left for me to cover in my replies, e.g. time-consuming conversations, bare-bones interactions, et cetera.
  • When in Rome, personified. I like to adapt to my partner's reply length and complexity, as well as writing style. If you're more comfortable with the 2nd person, I will switch to the 2nd person if need be. If you can't put up multi-paragraph replies, I will also refrain from sending away a novel an hour.
If you'd like to learn more about me as a person, as well as my schedule and time zone, be sure to visit my introduction thread over here:

Now that we've been somewhat acquainted, I implore you to shoot me a message with all the ideas you think we can turn into fully-fledged tales. That is, if this little profile of mine caught your eye!

Hope to hear from you soon!
