Hey folks! I'm some dude, and I like to roleplay. I also like old records, old music, old fashion, old design, indie games, good food, and punching cones into the wee small hours of the night. Thankfully, you only need to concern yourself with the first thing.
I enjoy a wide variety of settings, genres, stories, and characters. In recent years, though, I've found myself wandering away from most of the tread paths - common genres like medieval fantasy, modern grunge sci-fi, et cetera.
With characters, I like playing (and playing against) those with interesting, flawed, and distinct personalities. Otherwise, I'm fairly open with gender, age, and other things. I've got my peculiarities, and one of these is that I prefer to involve furries in my stories. It's crass, I know, but I'm a slave to it. If you'll have me like that, we'll have a long history of roleplaying ahead of us :)
The settings I enjoy most, and settings I'm eager to try out, are:
- Ancient Civ Fantasy (Whether dark and violent, or light and adventurous)
- Well-formulated science fantasy.
- Dark, folksy fantasy tales, set in the Industrial era.
- Alternate kinds of Science Fiction.
- Dystopias and wastelands.
- Surreal or Arthouse settings; including far-future utopias.
- Post-Steam punk settings; Dieselpunk, DOSpunk, Cyberpunk, and so on.
- Pulp fiction, including adventure and horror.
- Any kind of non-historical, period-inspired roleplays, really
Some of my preferred themes are:
- Adventure.
- Intrigue and mystery.
- Turbulent romance.
- Forbidden romance!
- Anything with espionage, especially period settings with international.
- Crime and lawlessness.
- Traveling. And cars.
- Antagonism and conflict.
- Blue-collar workers in epic settings; such as coal miners in a fantasy world, or metal welders in a space colony.
When I get into writing with people, there are three things I tend to look for. First, is my partner's general understanding and experience with life. Next, is their familiarity with, or attentiveness to, the material we're doing. Last, of course, is their raw skill with language - how my partner structures their writing, how well I'm sucked into the scene, and how it makes me feel.
This might seem pretty intuitive, but I feel like it ought to be mentioned. A person without life experience may struggle to write a convincing dialogue; a writer who prefers guesswork to research may . And, of course, we've all played with somebody who pads their paragraphs. I'm sure we've all been that person, too!
I also have a habit of sharing musical inspiration and reference images when I'm building words. I find it's the best way to convey a visual aesthetic, without getting tied up in lengthy exposition during the roleplay itself.
If I had to pick my perfect story... It would be a science-fantasy work, heavy on the pulp, that involved two or more ragtag wanderers getting tangled in a series of plots bigger than themselves, with decent helpings of artistic smut and retro allure. And I'd be playing a grizzled shortstack with a smoking habit.
You might also want to check the link under this paragraph, if you haven't already got an idea in mind - it's got a small collection of plots and prompts I've written up for reference. A bunch of them are pending a rewrite, and I have just as many more to add, but they should make for a jumping-off point. Either way, feel free to share your own interests with me!

But hey, that's why god invented dreams. Until then, let's see if we can't figure out something fantastic...

Anyway, thanks for reading through all my shit. Or, skimming through all of my shit!
Either way, I look forward to talking with you!
