A Spirit of radiant light ~ A Blizzard foretold
Welcome to the Sanctum
Happy Birthday!!
I haven't roleplayed in quite a while, though I actually have a good amount of experience and am generally a detailed writer. Don't remember the last site I tried a long while ago, but seeing as no one was capable of actually following through and continuing a roleplay (or getting to the roleplay in many cases) I eventually gave up and lost any desire to continue.
Now, I hope this time will be different.
I do have trouble communicating in real life, and so writing had always been a way of connecting for me that I can't get in other ways. Hopefully, it can continue to be so here in the future.
Roleplaying wise...
I - despite being female - only write male main character, though I am capable of female side-characters. I can also handle 1 - many characters and side-characters, as almost all my experience has been private 1x1s. I'm not opposed to branching out and trying new styles, but I don't like it when a story goes unfinished.
I'm not obsessed with romance, and not every story needs it... but I only accept mxf relationships with my characters when it does arise.
I enjoy fantasy and supernatural elements, particularly in a slice-of-life setting. However, I enjoy things like survival, adventure, and the interaction of different kingdoms/factions as well, though I have much less experience with them.
A writing no-go for me is Zombies. The worst monster-type ever created for a million reasons, and they're more disgusting and annoying than scary.
Another writing no-go for me is over-emotional dominant women. There's many reasons and a traumatizing roleplay experience to go with them.
I can't stand roleplaying with less than 2 descent paragraphs with fluent, understandable grammar. However, I don't expect perfection. I'd rather we both have fun, and that's the key for me. To have fun, however, I can't be the only one adding depth, character thoughts, and driving the plot. I have no upper limit and adjust my length and style according to the roleplay and what I'm given from the other person.
World-building and fleshing out characters is one of my favorite parts, so if we ever roleplay expect to discuss these things out of character. I also enjoy talking about the roleplay, characters, and other things with whoever I write with. I like attempting to understand the person(s) I'm spending my time investing into building up a world and people and having experiences with.
I don't have any fandoms, and I most likely couldn't write in any of them. However, while I wouldn't call myself a true fan, I am comfortable enough to be able to write in the Harry Potter, Skyrim, and Pokemon Worlds... though it would have to be pretty interesting to convince me. I prefer creating original characters and original worlds.
I've only ever experienced the literature-side of roleplaying, and never any table-top games or other (are there other?) styles, but I wouldn't be opposed, now that I have an overall general understanding of them second-hand.
Can't think of what else to say, and can't summon any energy or enthusiasm at 2 am. So, that's all for now. Not sure if I'll wind up staying on the site or not, but I have a hopeful expectation of becoming comfortable here.
God Bless everyone who reads this, and stay safe.
