🌬️🐉 Hello hello! My name is Faye [she/her , 21+], and I’m an advanced literate - novella writer with over a decade of experience. I post anywhere from a handful of paragraphs to a whole book, depending on what I’m given to work with, and I always tend to match my partner! I’ve been itching to delve into a supernatural setting of our own creation, inspired by whatever pantheon/mythology we choose (Greek and Egyptian are my weaknesses). Below is the idea I had in mind!

> It is a world where the ancient gods are openly recognized and worshipped. However, with the changing times, mortals have begun to rise up against them, promoting a new-age movement that discredits divinity. M/C is one of them; (a journalist, scientist, professor, etc.). Only for Y/C, one of the gods, to attend a lecture of M/C’s out of morbid curiosity to see what the fuss is all about, and that’s where it all begins. Perhaps Y/C is enamored right away, or simply hates M/C and everything they stand for—they become determined to show M/C just how great the gods are, how powerful, until that determination becomes yearning.. and soon darkens into twisted obsession with the mortal.

I have LOTS of ideas for this that I would love to expand upon together! OCs are super welcome. Bring me the world-building and plenty of angst. Open to any era, though I have a soft spot for that classical dark academia feel. I adore dead dove themes and complex, toxic dynamics, as well as characters who are deeply flawed and immoral. For this prompt, I prefer a MxF pairing, with me writing for F (your IRL gender doesn’t matter to me! Everyone is welcome). Limits and triggers can be discussed in private.

I’m very chatty so I’d love a partner who’s enthusiastic and detailed! I wouldn’t want to be the only one putting effort and steering the plot forward; I want to gush about our OCs and the story itself together.

Please come with a little intro of yourself and at least an idea for your character (even better if it’s a pre-established OC). I might ask for a writing sample just to get a feel for your style.

If you’re interested, feel free to reach out!

Hey Faye! Nice to meet you and your post really caught my attention. I really like stories that mix mythology with more grounded, emotional writing, and your idea hits a lot of notes I enjoy. The setup with the mortal and god dynamic sounds like it could go in some really interesting directions. I’ve been writing for a while too, mostly character-focused stories with heavier emotion and a good amount of world-building. I like when characters actually drive the plot instead of just reacting to it.

I was wondering if you’d be open to moving the story a bit closer to the myth itself, maybe setting it in the ancient world, where both characters are part of the mythos instead of a modern retelling. Something like an odyssey-type story, or maybe the two of them having to stop the Titans from rising again. That could give us more freedom to explore the gods’ world directly while still keeping the same emotional tension between them.

Either way, I really like the tone and direction you described, and I’d love to brainstorm more about it with you!

Almost forgot! About myself, I do enjoy writing literate/novella like, so please don't hold back for me! I will give you as much as you give to me! I try to reply as often as I can, while managing my life as a father of a toddler and working as security officer on an airport, but regardless of this! I enjoy ooc talking about whatever we need or want, either story wise or simply something out of it.

Well, I hope I managed to capture your attention and get any reply of sorts! See you soon. ^^

Hi! Thank you for reaching out. While I love your ideas, I’m so sorry but a modern retelling is crucial to some of the elements of the plot, such as the changing times, politics, technology, etc., all of which are driving reasons why humans would no longer need the protection or the influence of the deities.

I like this idea a lot! Would this be a 1x1 or have many characters but just one main pairing?

Oh uh sorry maybe I was a bit unclear: Will there be more than two writers or is it just 1x1?

Alright! This definitely seems awesome! I would be up to write in this, I think. I just have a question: can I please be the anti-divinity character as opposed to the god who gets obsessed? I have a character who would work well with that role. (I’m imagining some kind of demigod who both makes use of their magic but also wants to stay as far away from any connection to the gods as possible, viewing them as fickle and untrustworthy.)
