Starstruck
Good evening dear reader, you may call me Wren.
I'm a 20-something masquerading as a functioning adult. I've been writing creatively since I was very young and RPing on and off as a hobby since my early teens. I prefer to RP using third person persepctive formatted in paragraphs. I don't expect entire novellas every response, two paragraphs is more than fine, but only a sentence or two doesn't cut it for me even just during dialogue, its lazy. Spelling and grammar are important to me - not so much that I'll turn you away if you make a single mistake but unique and interesting word choice, as well as a distinct voice in writing, just makes it so much more interesting for me to read and to reply to.
As a fair warning, my starters/scene setters tend to be quite lengthy because I like to set a tone and give the story and my character a proper introduction. I don't ever expect this length to be matched (unless you like to do the same, in which case don't let me stop you!) and it likely won't come up again in the RP otherwise (unless I'm setting a scene again). I apologize in advance for the inevitable wall of text, its a bad habit.
With all of that said, it has been a good while since I've done any serious RPing so there is likely a layer of dust to shake off. This goes doubly for any sort of 18+ content/smut. I have participated in RP that contained adult content before and am comfortable doing so again but it's been a while and I am undoubtedly rusty, please be patient with me.
On that note, and since it has come up a number of times since posting this RT.
I am NOT interested in RP only for the sake of smut!
I don't mind romance in the least and while I'm fine with smut being included as a part of the story when it is not unnatural or forced to do so I don't want every scene rushed through and timeskipped to get to the part where they bang. It's uninspiring and frankly I find it quite boring. The highest ratio of plot to smut that I'd be willing to go is maybe 60/40 but I still want a story to go with it.
I RP characters of all genders, though I've been leaning more toward playing women as of late. FxM and FxF pairings are the ones I am most drawn to currently, though for the right plot I could be convinced to do MxM or otherwise. I am more than happy to RP with characters of all identities!
Genres/Themes that I am always interested in, include;
Put a Fantasy or Supernatural twist on a genre and there's a very high chance that it'll interest me at the moment so don't feel limited by the length of this list. I'm not really interested in Sci-Fi right now and Slice of Life tends to bore me as a genre when stood on its own but that's about it.
Pairings/Tropes I enjoy, include;
There are more than these but they are all that I can think of at the moment. I'll probably add more and continue to edit this as they come to me.
Please feel free to message me with ideas or even prompts of your own if you're not interested in any of the ones below but feel like we'd be good writing partners regardless. Pick and choose from the lists above as well (or suggest your own) and we can work out a plot along the way.
As with the above, this list will likely be updated when the mood strikes.
Additionally, while I do not RP canon characters within fandoms I am open to RPing within the setting of a fandom. This can be either adjacent to the canon plot or just taking inspiration from whatever world to create something original. Feel free to ask if I know about something and I'd be more than happy to let you know!
Writing Samples;
Self-explanatory. A few things I've written for previous RPs.
Congratulations on getting to the end of this. I ask that anyone who is interested please PM me with their ideas, preferences, and any questions they might have instead of replying to the thread below. I'm more than open to ideas other than what is listed here so don't feel limited by the slim pickings. I'll add more eventually.
Thanks for reading!

Genres/Themes that I am always interested in, include;
✒ High or Low Fantasy (Whimsical magic filled worlds, gritty kill or be killed court politics, delving into cursed forests and trap-filled dungeons and everything in between)
✒ Supernatural/Mythology (Historical, Modern, Fantasy, Includes Deities, Gods/Goddesses + creatures of folklore/urban myths/ Werewolves, Vampires, Demons, Merfolk, Fae, etc...)
✒ Romance (I'm a sucker for slow burns, though rivals/enemies/etc to lovers is good too)
✒ Historical (I'm most knowledgable and interested in the mid-to-late 1800s and the early 1900s/1920s aka, the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Prepare yourself for proper undergarments/clothing with this one, spreading truths about corsets is a hobby of mine)
✒ Paranormal/Horror/Lovecraftian-inspired (I'm not big on teen-slasher-movie style horror, psychological or survival horror is closer to my wheelhouse. Be forewarned, if it's disturbing I will describe it in great detail as such)
✒ Mystery

✒Hades x Persephone (In the spirit of, or a direct retelling EDIT; I do currently have of these in progress and I could be convinced to do a second if the theme of it differs enough but it'll have to be good)
✒ Magic User x Non Magic User (In a world with a either a very positive or very negative view on magic)
✒ Height/Build differences
✒ City vs Country/Raised in different environments
✒ Exploring cultural differences/traditions
✒ Arranged relationships
✒ Rivals/Enemies to begrudging partners to lovers
✒ Slow burn
✒ Double identities (one character falling for what they think is two different people when really they're the same)
✒ Uptight and proper x Adventurous and crass
✒ Mundane thrust into a supernatural world that they previously had no idea existed

✒ I don't have a properly formatted prompt for it but I have recently been thinking a lot about either a historical mystery-esque type story with otherworldly elements. The idea being, either going into the mystery as normal and unveiling an underlaying secret or being called into it specifically because of knowledge on the unknown. There's a lot of room to stretch with this and I'm excited to see the different places it could go. As for time periods I'm stuck between something Noir/1920s-ish, Late Victorian- 1880s-1900s or Weird West 1860s-1890s inspired. I could be convinced of other periods as well.
Mythology/Folklore/Fantasy.
Can be modern or fall into an older time period. Can be discussed.
Fae Creature/King/Queen x Human
Character A is a powerful Fae creature, one that is hundreds to thousands of years old. They live in a dense wood, making their Court deep within the trees. A place few have stumbled upon and fewer have returned from.
Character B is a human who lives on the outskirts of a village near the wood in a quaint house by themself. Their occupation allows them to remain in/around their house for the most part and can really be anything. Artist, musician, wood carver, herbalist, witch, etc…
For some reason or other B catches the eye of A and thus begins a rather unusual courtship, A showering B with gifts and courtesies suitable to a Fae that might be confusing or even alarming to B in order to first be invited into their home, then into their heart/bed? They might even go so far as to glamour themself to hide their true nature from B in order to gain trust and the like.
The gist of this would be an unconventional romance between a Fae creature and a Human. Faeries of folklore are well known for their mischievousness and occasional malevolence. Stealing children and binding humans with favours all the while without breathing a word of a lie. The prompt itself is rather broad but that just leaves more room for building a plot together. I'd love to hear someone else's ideas on the topic of Fae too!

Supernatural/Fantasy/Mythology. A time period is flexible.
Character A and Character B are Hunters of Supernatural Creatures. Though not a common profession it's made more unlikely by the fact that they are both Supernatural creatures themselves, using their knowledge into the world of the supernatural in order to give them an advantage on their hunts.
They both end up taking on high-rank contracts and are unknowingly tasked against one another, though the contracts paint them as rogues and murderers and mention nothing of the fact that they are both contracted Hunters in their own right. It's only after tracking each other down and nearly killing and being killed in turn that they realize there is something wrong. They're both well known in their circles and have done good work for the Hunter community, there is no reason they should have contracts on them. Not to mention that everything in the contracts given to them about the other is false or exaggerated.
Now working together Characters A and B have to navigate the politics of Hunter hierarchy while keeping under the radar of whoever gave them the fake contracts in order to find out what is actually going on.
This prompt can work with just one sort of Supernatural Creature existing in the world or it can be broader across a span of different creatures. The type of creature(s) can drastically change the direction we can take this though so I'd appreciate chatting about that.

Modern-ish Fantasy. A time period can be discussed.
Fisherman/Mariner/Lighthouse Keeper x Mer-Creature/Selkie/Siren/Sea Nymph/Etc..
Character A is a creature of the sea who often ventures onto land and into the world of humans as a sort of entertainment. They have been going on these 'trips' for years and are fairly comfortable with human customs and the such when they eventually meet Character B, a reclusive fisherman/mariner/lighthouse keeper who lives by themself in a rusticly small but comfortable home on the cliffs that overlook the water. After catching sight of them one early morning on the beach A catches B's fancy and they start going out of their way to look for them/to find excuses to talk to them. Which is unusual, considering the nomadic sort of life they've chosen to lead but there's just something about A that B just can't shake. This can go several different ways depending on what sort of creature is chosen and I would very much like to discuss and brainstorm further ideas about it.
Ask me about the things I like in regards to Mermaids/Mer-Creatures. Beautiful humanoids are enjoyable but a glamour that hides a mouth full of sharp teeth, pointed ears, inhuman eyes and the such are always fun additions.

Writing Samples;
Self-explanatory. A few things I've written for previous RPs.
Asher slowed only once he was nearly on top of the doors, watching Kel take cover behind a pillar out of the corner of his eye, focus still glowing as bright as ever. He hoped that was a good sign, that Kel was still holding up. There wasn't much he could do about it right now in any case.
The temple doors were massive, nearly twice his height and similarly as wide. Carved into the wood in the centre of each door was one nearly human-sized raven, clutching an equally large brass knocker in unsettlingly detailed obsidian talons. Underneath the knockers were two much smaller handles flanked with a keyhole each.
Cursing his luck Asher leaned in to look at the keyholes, going so far as to jiggle each handle just in case the doors were unlocked. They weren't. Normally he would have tried his hand at picking them. Unlike marksmanship, he'd quickly developed a knack for lockpicking. But picking locks took time and concentration, neither of which he had very much of at the moment.
It looked like he was going to have to take a more old-fashioned approach.
Asher unsheathed his sword and took a step back, raising the blade over his head then bringing it down on the closer of the two handles with a discordant crash. A second swing had the handle fall to the ground, though the door stayed in place. Not bothering to sheathe the sword again Asher kicked at the lock, the hard leather heel of his boot hitting the door once, twice, three times before the sound of splintering wood could be heard. A fourth kick brought with it a louder crack and a fifth had the lock break and the door beginning to swing inward.
"Kel!" Asher called as he braced a shoulder against the door and pushed, only able to move it a couple of inches at a time, it was as heavy as it looked.

Saren craned her neck up to take in the top of the imposing treeline, branches arching up so impossibly high that they almost seemed to fade slightly in colour the further away they got from the ground. In all her wanderings across the country, she had come across many forests, each impressive in their own right. Though, this one… There was something about this forest that called to her in a way that she had not experienced before. There was something... different, about it. About the small logging town and it's unimposing peoples. Contradictory as that may have seemed the thought continued to linger.
She knelt, taking care of the longbow slung across her back, and splayed her hand flat onto the ground, eyelids fluttering shut for a moment. The sparse grass was corse against the pads of her fingers and the hard-packed dirt damp and cool on her palm. A shiver ran through her and she stood again, not bothering to brush off her knees. From a pouch at her waist she retrieved a neatly folded piece of parchment, unfolding and reading it over before tucking it back into place and turning her gaze to the forest once more. She had never been one to volunteer for 'jobs' before. Sure, there was the odd errand she had taken up or rumour she had followed to earn some coin when her reserves dipped low or she needed new supplies, but there had never been anything quite like this.
The walk back to the town common was quick, the forest and the subsequent tingling that it sent down her spine receding, replaced with the easy sounds of the quaint populace. With the midday crowds as they were, it was a simple enough endeavour to move throughout without much notice, not catching more than a handful of watchful eyes. Nothing out of the normal. That was good.
Taking pause midway through the square she noticed a tall man with dark hair and light eyes as he exited the tavern, the vibrant green of his scarf catching her eye against the muddled browns of the town and its people. Saren watched him cross the common, a slim eyebrow-raising when she realized his intended target, at once recognizing the emblazoned crest as matching the wax seal of house Tharus. It was, after all, the same seal that decorated the folded parchment she had folded and tucked into a pocket. Her gaze shifted to the man who stood next to the cart and its banner, slightly shorter and much broader than the half-elf with the green scarf, an easy confident smile on his face. Hadden, she recalled the name easily. 'A son of house Tharus'. He was not entirely how she had expected him, much younger that was for sure but it made sense if that truly was him.
With a series of practiced motions, Saren reached back and pulled her hair from its tie, shaking it out slightly and running a hand through it. She cleared her throat and set about righting herself, smoothing down her sleeves and straightening the reddish leather armour she wore. A soft, well-exercised smile settled across her face as she strode through the common and approached the two men.
Seizing a pause in conversation she took the last few quick steps forward, adjusting the bowstring that lay over her chest as she glanced up, liquid black gaze darting between the two for a moment before coming to rest. "Hadden Tharus?" She asked, words soft, her vowels faintly accented in a way that did not match that of the townsfolk or even that of this side of the country.
