The King in Yellow, Hastur, is being summoned by his cult of followers on Earth. The two act play, the King in Yellow, is going to be performed and open the doorway to Carcosa. It is up to a washed up detective(YC) and an ex cult member(MC) to find out what the cult is up to and put a stop to their grand performance before the King reaches too far into our realm. Along the way, the two bond over the shared trauma of investigating this wicked cult and all the strange things that start to corrupt our world under Hastur's eldritch influence.​

A buddy cop comedy, this can either be sexual MxM or nonsexual with the two simply being friends. Looking for this to be really gritty, dark, with some horror elements but also the relationship I want to explore between our characters is frenemies/enemies to lovers, like The Nice Guys, the Other Guys, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and Emperor's New Groove, except homoerotic.

I'm very slow with posting. Probably once or twice a week but this plotline is one I desire very very much. So, despite how much you might have to wait, my posting eventually is a guarantee because I love this story idea so much.

I would prefer a partner who is semi familiar with the lore of the King in Yellow but it is not entirely necessary since the whole point of the rp will be investigating and learning about the story and the cursed play. So, please don't be intimidated.

My character, the ex-cultist will potentially be using Boyd Holbrook as a faceclaim. Not committed to it but it's one possibility. A hot, delusional little man.
