Come one, Come all—at last it is here. In celebration of the coming of May, we, your generous overlords, do bestow upon you a chance to win a grand prize, one each month, unto the ending of time.
Alright—the end of the bad medieval shtick, I promise.
This section will, once a month, present you with a particular writing challenge. These challenges might be a genre, a character dynamic, a scenario you must make interesting.
The likely schedule is this:
1st of the month: New challenge, YAY
20th of the month: Submission deadline, a poll will then go up
28th, 30th or 31st of the month: The submission with the most votes wins (Subject to exceptions)
For right now, the prize will be a banner below your name and a choice (with restrictions) of your username colour.
The only rules for submissions are that they must attempt the prompt, they must adhere to site rules and they must be a genuine attempt at solid writing. Troll posts will be deleted.
FOR VOTING: The First and only rule is this—vote for the person WHO DESERVES IT. Not your partner, not your friend, not the person who offers you cupcakes—the person who you genuinely think wrote the best response to the prompt. We're hoping the voting system will work. If it turns into a popularity contest—we'll have to resort to despotism.
All site rules apply. Children CAN be used—including as main characters—in prompt responses but they CANNOT be exposed to excessive violence or any sex. If you have even the slightest doubts about acceptability, run your submission or idea past an admin BEFORE posting.
