Just some jarbled up information about a magic world of mine.

Pure elements:
Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, Plague, Ice, Shadow, Light, Arcane, Nature

Mages with magic that is close to one of these eleven types of magic tend to have more powerful magic. Mages with pure magic appear very rarely and are often held in extremely high regards.
Magic can be a mix of pure elements but that does not make them stronger than the eleven original elements. For example, Nature and Plague magic can combine to make a Mushroom/Fungi magic.

Mages:
Humans are born with a specific amount of magic their body is able to store as one time. This is usually based on what the two parents are born with. Parents with small magic stores will also pass on small magic stores to their children. With extensive training, these stores capacities can be increased.
People will only be able to control magic types that have been passed down through their parents. A mage that has parents with mainly ice and water based magic will never be able to control fire magic. If a person happens to get stuck with a fairly useless type of magic then they are stuck with it. Sucks for them.

Ruling Mage:
The Ruling Mage is a title that has been passed down from one mage to another for thousands of years. This title was originally given to a mage that was said to be the creator of the continent. Throughout the years, the Ruling Mage has been undeniably the strongest mage of every generation. This mage is the ruler of the continent and appoints the rulers of the other kingdoms as well was hand picks the mages that lead the Eleven Bands.

Eleven Bands:
Within the kingdom Elskahina, the capital hosts not only the Ruling Mage, but the continents main army of mages. The Eleven Bands are the eleven squads of mages, each controlled by a single mage that is deemed worthy by the Ruling Mage. Originally, the Eleven Bands representatives had been eleven mages with magic very closely aligned with the eleven pure elements but as time went on, they just became the eleven strongest mages aside from the Ruling Mage.

Elevens Exams:
Held in the capital of Elskahina every six month, the Elevens Exams are the trials held by the Ruling Mage and the Eleven Bands to choose new members for the squads. Mages will show off their abilities and if Band Leaders take an interest in a mage, they will accept said mage into their ranks. Though, the exams only get harder as the years go on and more diverse types of magic are cultivated.

Deities:
Pure magic has long since left the world and even though very few mages have pure magic, certain deities are the true wielders of the magic. Each element has one deities to it's name that takes a human as it's host. These humans can not use any form of magic themselves and are often inhabited for life. Thus, they are protected by their civilizations. These deities will occasionally give humans advice and in times of extreme need, they may just lend their powers to a capable mage. Often, the hosts are treated as royalty or sometimes as gods.

Partners:
Mages have a peculiar ability to bond with one another using magic. Certain mages will choose a single partner, often a close friend or someone they work well with and for what is called a Blood Bond. It can be referred to as many different things but this is the most widely known term. Two mages perform a ceremony together, always in the presence on a deity host, where they mix their blood and have magic extracted and them combined and finally, the mixed magic is split between the two mages and returned to their bodies.
This bonds the two mages. Their magic tends to be stronger when they are in battle together but lets say if one of the mages in the bond were to be killed, the other's magic ability would be forever weakened. Mages can always break the bond though and are allowed to bond with another mage.

Map and Places
Map
(I plan to put a lot more detail into the map in the future. This is just the bare bones go give a bit more visuals.)

Kingdoms:
Kadigim:
Kadigim is a smaller kingdom on the northern most point of the continent. A frigid region that is rarely visited by others, though they have always remained neutral. Currently home to the Earth, Wind and Ice hosts. Has many strong lines of ice and earth based mages. Most natives to the region have icy pale skin and deep black or brown hair and eyes. Often physically larger on average, both men and women.

Ken Floga:
An Island country to the west that has a number of territories on the mainland surrounding the island. A tropical and warm place with rather aggressive inhabitant that are also oddly playful. For hundreds of years they have had the hosts of the Fire, Lightning, and Arcane deities. The people of the Ken Floga lands are a very diverse peoples but the true natives tend to be rather tall and lean, often with hair and eyes that have a reddish hue.

Verlos:
A jungle of a country that has always been the hub of trade and friendly relations. A massive country that takes up much of the south and southwest, they have proudly been caring for the Nature and Plague hosts for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Accepting people from all over the continent, their population is probably the most diverse. Most cities and towns within the kingdom are built within the heavy lush jungle that is the entire county of Verlos. Often referred to as the "tree folk," a majority of the mages in Verlos are Nature based magic users with a mix of Plague. Though, with such a diverse population, you could probably find any type of magic user there.

Kimati:
Kimati is a reclusive kingdom that thinks highly of itself and its magic. Being the holder of the Water host, their mages are only water based. Their kingdom is located on a lone island in the east. They rarely take sides when war breaks out. Those from Kimati tend to be on the smaller side with various types of blonde hair, a range of skin tones, and often have blue or green eyes.

Elskahina:
The holder of the Light and Shadow hosts, the kingdom of Elskahina is in the center of the continent. The Ruling Mage resides within the kingdom and this is where the true military force of the continent lies. Here, the Ruling Mage has cultivated his army of mages fro all over the continent.
