So, for a long time I've been meaning to join a writing community, and I think there's no reason other than myself stopping me at this point, and then here I am. Hello again!

You can call me Laym! Or Rifer, going by the name I chose in account creation. Yes, I'm stupid and already regret choosing my default nickname for everything instead of a name I relate to more in a "people will call me by that" level. I'll think about it before asking an admin to change it so fast. Anyways! I'm 23 years old and I've been writing since I was 12 or 13, with some short and long hiatuses through this time. I love creating fiction and it's been almost a year since I last did anything, but I really really wanted to get back to it.

I have roleplayed before with a group of friends and with a partner, but never in the way people do in communities like this; it was a lot more like rapid fire text-based RPGs than creating a solid prose narrative together with other people. Sooo, I'd say I am very much a newbie at roleplaying. I put in my profile my average response length is 3 to 5 paragraphs, which is what I felt could best balance a not-too-slow pace with nice detailing and enrichening to the story and the characters, but I've no idea if this is true, and I'm totally open to your knowledge and suggestions.

Also, before going any further, I should mention I am not a native English speaker and, although I am fluent, I'm quite prone to making grammar mistakes and taking a bit of a longer time to word out my stuff. This introduction, for one, is taking quite the time, and I will still review it before posting.

As for my writing style, I'd say I am definetely a lot more of a worldbuilding person, which would then lead into me admitting I still need to improve A LOT my plot-thinking, my story progressions and such. But do I love worldbuilding! I think it is what I do best, and hope this will show in whatever we end up writing here. There's also nothing better than this for getting better in what I think I need to the most, so there's nothing to lose and everything to win from my point of view. Regardless of that, I really, really hope I'll contribute positively to your stories and the community overall. I brought a couple of base story settings with me, but I'll wait until I have access to the forums and have talked a bit in the chat about stuff before doing anything!

Finally, I think it is safe to say my favorite genre is sci-fi, but definetely medieval fantasy is the genre I most wrote through the years. I also wrote some realistic and historical fiction. Overall it's safe to say I am a huge sucker for hard sci-fi, low-fantasy, dark-fantasy and such. Honestly, though, I am very open to new stuff. There's still a lot for me to try - for exemple, I never wrote a superhero story, nor did I ever depict a post-apocaliptic setting, both of which I think I'd really enjoy. I love the grittier stories where proportions, stakes and powers feel realistic - LOVE. Also, in my profile I mentioned I write 'Moderate' erotica, which is true, but I wish there was an "Any" option, because I think I'm much more inclined to match the style of whoever I'm writing with than setting this sort of thing in stone. This goes to things other than erotica, too, like romance itself.

Well, I think this is it. I feel like I digressed a lot! This is my introduction, though, so I think it is fine. I may say more about myself, my likes and stuff in my profile in another time. Thank you all for reading through this, and for letting me in the community!

On a last note, this is a test to see if I understood how spoilers work.

Welcome to Inner Sanctum, New Blood!

First and foremost; it's nice to meet you! Welcome to our home! If you haven't already, please make sure you read your welcome letter in the top right! It should be the little icon! That's where all of your future messages will end up!

( There's multiple pages to this; just click/tap the arrows! )

Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there!

However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! If you were looking for an open story you can just jump in straight away, you can find them in Unfinished Tales!

Next, I've created A Sanctum Tour to help find a lot of cool places on site! There's plenty to do while waiting on replies or to give yourself a break every now and then! But, these are some of my favorites! The first shout out goes to The Sanctum Tavern! Here you can find many a thing! By the Hearth can be found there and has many wonderful discussions; my personal favorite is where everyone talks up their writing partners! Want to see some cute pets or share your own? Pets of the Sanctum is where to go! Feeling up for a challenge? Check out the Monthly Writing Challenge and give it a whirl!

And, there's so so so~ much more! Please take the time to explore!

I think that's everything... Oh! I'm Mio, by the way! Just a friendly changeling and hydration bot! You can find me and several others in Sanctum's Chat Room! If you have any questions, you can always pop in there for help! I will say though, the best people to ask are staff! Green Names are Heralds and Hot Pink Names are Virtuosos which are the best to ask questions! Blue Names are Moderators and Purple Names are the Administrators, which help with tech support and discipline! You can find out which are online via the home page! On PC it'll be to the right of the screen, and on mobile it'll be near the bottom!

Now, get out there and write! May your muses sing for you!
