Hi everyone! I'm eldritchcephalopod (you can call me Bram, Fish, or any nickname of your choice, really), and I'm looking forward to meeting you all! I'd like to think of myself as friendly or approachable, so if there's ever anything you'd like to talk to me about, feel free to reach out and I'd love to chat!
I've been writing for years, and roleplaying on and off throughout that time. I love writing (and reading) original fantasy and sci-fi stories, as well as fanfiction when the mood strikes. Some non-writing hobbies I have include crochet, swimming, gaming, and tabletop RPGs. I'm also currently studying linguistics, but I spent a while studying bioengineering and I love learning about STEM.
My main writing style (and consequently my RP style) is 3rd person past tense prose. I'm willing to write in present tense sometimes, but never 1st person or anything other than prose. I tend to be a multi-paragraph poster, though for fast-paced or dialogue-heavy scenes, that number might drop to one paragraph. While I am willing to write up to ~1000 words in a post, I find that it often makes keeping track of dialogue and the order of actions difficult. I'm pretty liberal with expletives in my writing, admittedly, but can try to tone it down if my writing partner wants me to.
Generally, I like a very character-driven narrative, but I'm also pretty open to more involved worldbuilding and plotting! Romance is fine, if the characters have chemistry, but I usually prefer for it to be a subplot to the main plot.
To be honest, I've always been pretty terrible at introductions, so I think I'm gonna end it here. If I come up with anything else, I'll edit to add it.
