Yes me too. I just got tired of previous sites where I got ghosted all the time. Ruined my creativity a bit as I rather get a thanks but no thanks than a vanishing act.

What does one do to pass the time when roleplays aren't happening? Not trying to sound foolish now just not good with connecting.

While waiting for Role plays to happen you could read some of the ones going on on the site, or you could read people's Request threads or improve your own.
You won't believe the difference it makes to have a good solid Request thread with ideas, plots and pairings listed, not just mentioned that they exist.
