hello hello friends! i'm kitty, or kit, or whatever you like best.
i'm a long time on-and-off roleplayer (although coming off a significantly longer off period), and am returning to the scene of forum-based roleplay for the first time in a long while. i was an insanely active user of a different, still-existing forum when i was pretty young, but i can't bring myself to return to that one specifically because it definitely feels that i've outgrown it. so... here i am!

i'm definitely pretty rusty with forum etiquette and all the bb code i learned back then to decorate my signature, but i'm an avid writer and i really want to lean back into that creative side of myself. my writing style is somewhat flexible, but tends to always look roughly the same: strictly OCxOC pairings, biased towards third person, fairly lengthy (usually somewhere between 400-1000 words, depending on a billion things- my schedule, where we're at in the story, etc.), with lots of OOC chat encouraged. i think the more plotting, casual discussion, jokes, the better and more fleshed out. speedy replies not expected whatsoever- speed should be measured in our interest and availability, which are of course always subject to change. if we're available and super into it one moment, exchanging lots of replies in a short period of time, awesome! if not, that's just as well. response times will vary and change whenever- no pressure!

as for my personal style, i pretty exclusively play female main characters- who are admittedly almost always a form of self-insert (but fleshed out i swear!) i do love romance, and while i'm slightly partial to the high-tension, dramatic, angsty stuff, i do enjoy some more casual slice of life fluff, too. slowburn is sorta a must for me in romantic pairings (the build-up is just too good!), but i'm not solely looking for nsfw or even strictly romantic plots, either. i'm open to discuss, but here's a bunch of random buzzwords and things that i have a soft spot for:

adventure, angst, aphrodisiacs, apocalyptic, best friends, character development, college,
confessions, danger, drama, enemies to lovers, fantasy, flirting, forced proximity,
friends to lovers, horror, long-term, low fantasy, medieval, modern, pining, psychological,
realism, rivals, roommates, slice of life, slowburn, smut*, story-focused, supernatural,
tension, thriller, worldbuilding, yearning...

**i know it's silly to be shy since actual roleplay posts are public, but i'd prefer keeping any smut details/discussion (turn ons, offs, limits, preferences, etc.) to pms >_>

you get the gist! maybe! as for plots/scenes, i usually prefer to start with vague/rough ideas and flesh out a world/plot with my partner(s). i find that both parties are usually more invested in worlds they build together! i'm also interested in potentially developing a more large-scale, collaborative roleplay with lots of writers and a full cast, but that's something i'd definitely have to look more into and set deliberate time aside for. [edit- below is a growing list that i'm adding to over time, whenever ideas start to bounce around in my head]
-navigating the unsettling mysteries of a small town full of secrets: think northeast americana, foggy forests over the appalachian mountains, diners where nobody seems to act right... maybe a string of disappearances, murders, or maybe even something supernatural. this one's technically horror but in a weird comforting way, in my head
-a vacation or road trip with a big friend group, or maybe a class trip- either way, we find ourselves stuck together for a time. whether we meet on the trip and it's a new, white-hot hate, or something that's been boiling under the surface for years, it's no matter: we harbor an unspoken rivalry (or at least strong distaste) of one another. college-vibe shenanigans, forced proximity, fluff, and tension as we warm up to each other (or be consumed by hate, which is equally interesting).
-strangers whose paths cross and lives are changed when, staying in the same hotel one night, the establishment suddenly goes on lockdown for unknown reasons... perhaps it's something to do with the blood-curtling scream down the hall. heart-pounding, nerve-racking thriller, a little bit of a "whodunnit" vibe, and an immediate bond forged purely for survival- at least, in the beginning.
-probably my least fleshed out: an assassin/target plot. no idea what kind of backstory i'd want to establish, but loving the idea of an overly charismatic target trying to subtly escape who they realize may be out to get them. trust, bargaining, betrayal, unlikely pairs, disguises... the whole shebang. could be very slow, hair-raising tension, but not without humor!
anyway, if you've made it this far, please don't hesitate to shoot me a pm, or reply with anything you're liking currently! i promise i don't bite (usually). that's all from me for now- let's get chatting and discussing together! :)
