for my friends who don't quite care to sift through my babbling introduction, and just want to know if we may align, i'll cut to the chase before i get any further. here's what you may come to expect from me:

so, here's a doozie for what i'm sure is a lot of you, or maybe a win if you're exactly like me: smut is on the backburner.
i'm a long time on-and-off roleplayer and am returning to the scene of forum-based roleplay for the first time in a long while. i was an insanely active (and, dare i say, rather popular) user of a different, still-existing forum when i was pretty young, under a different name. however, due to the nature of the forum and the target audience it seems to attract, i do not see myself ever returning for feeling that i have definitely outgrown it. so, here i am!
i am a full time student, bartender, and nap enthusiast, searching for writing partners. given that i am a STEM major, i find that i rarely get to indulge that creative side of myself anymore, and so i'm seeking a return to the deep investment that is a good, solid roleplay—i adore getting swept up into the mind of a character. i enjoy rich, descriptive, flouncy prose, and although smut is far from a non-negotiable for me, i do enjoy the occasional indulgence. however, stories whose plots are entirely erotica-dependent do not particularly interest me (but don't mistake me—those "occasional" scenes can span a while, if we're both feelin' it.)
i'm also trying to take this as an opportunity to improve my writing. lack of free time has left me reading significantly less than i used to—to my chagrin—and the rust of my writing is marked and apparent. while i always did consider myself descriptive and detailed, the fact of the matter is that i haven't gotten these gears moving for a hot minute. i'd love to find a partner who's a roughly equal match on that front, both in current prose quality and the desire to be challenged and improved. i believe that partner chemistry is key, and it's important to me that we be honest with each other if we're simply not feeling compatible. i think the more plotting, casual discussion, and jokes between collaborators, the more lively and enriching a story can be. speedy replies not expected whatsoever- speed should be measured in our interest and availability, which are of course always subject to change. if we're available and super into it one moment, exchanging lots of replies in a short period of time, awesome! if not, that's just as well. response times will vary and change whenever- no pressure!
as for my personal style, i do exclusively play female characters, except on rare occasion in large-group roleplays—however, while i do adore a story with a large cast of writers, this site definitely feels more concentrated on 1:1 pairings, so i'll say strictly female characters for me. i'm not a particular fan of playing canon characters, and OCxOC is infinitely more my style. below is a hodgepodge collection of buzzwords that come to mind when i think of things i enjoy and am interested in including, so do feel free to take a peek and see if you like some or many of the same!
adventure, angst, aphrodisiacs (REALLY want to do something with this), apocalyptic, best friends,
character development, confessions, danger, drama, enemies to lovers, forced proximity,
friends to lovers, high-stakes, horror, jealousy, long-term, lovecraftian, low fantasy, macabre, medieval, modern,
mystery, pining, psychological, realism, reluctant allies, rivals, roommates, sinister, slice of life, slowburn, small-town,
smut*, story-focused, strangers. supernatural, tension, thriller, worldbuilding, yearning...
**i know it's silly to be shy since actual roleplay posts are public, but i'd prefer keeping any major smut details/discussion to pms >_>
however, for the sake of not wasting your time: i will not roleplay scenes containing more "extremes", i.e. no incest, toilet play, etc.

i'm also 1000% open to totally sfw roleplays! smut is NOT a non-negotiable for me by any means, and i actually quite prefer a story-rich roleplay with sparse smut—although please be sure not to confuse scarcity with mildness. i just think something somewhat rare but incredibly heated feels much more rewarding than constant, regardless of the intensity. regarding specific scenes, however, i admittedly do not have many in mind—as mentioned, i'm returning to forum-based roleplay after a quite long "off" period. i'll make a list that will come and go as ideas slowly come to mind, but unfortunately, i live at the whims of the muse. generally, i prefer to go off of rough/vague plotlines and build up together with my partner before starting—in my experience, a lot of the time, the pre-roleplay worldbuilding and idea phase can be some of the most exciting phases of the whole story. as mentioned, i'll add onto this one as time goes on. anyhow, if you've made it this far, please don't hesitate to shoot me a pm, or reply with anything you're liking currently! i promise i don't bite (usually). that's all from me for now—i look forward to hearing from you:)
