Hi Inner Sanctum! Nice to meet you all.
Who are you? Don't worry, I'll try keep it sweet and simple. My name is InkyWinks, 26 and from The Netherlands. A couple of years ago I used to be pretty active on a different forum, but life got a bit too busy to maintain proper posting schedules, leading me to take a step back. Writing has always been a fun escape for me though, and definitely something I want to get back into now that I find myself with a bit more time on idle hands.
So, what do you like writing? In terms of settings and themes, fantasy and/or historical just can't be beat. It gives us as writers the freedom to flex our creativity to conjure up different beings, cultures, religions, social orders, anything really ~ what's not to like?! Conflict is another important ingredient I look for in stories. Not just conflict between two main characters, but overarching conflicts that push our characters. Generally, I get a huge kick out of world-building and character development so flawed characters that stumble through complicated, changing circumstances, and come out the other side just a bit different, that's the sweet spot.
That's enough from me for now ~ have to leave some things for the request threads! I look forward to exploring the forum further and unashamedly snooping in some of your stories. Thanks!
P.S. Favourite movie: Pride & Prejudice ~ what's yours?
