hey there everyone (or anyone reading), i'm rom! i go by any pronouns or those of the they/she/he variety, in no particular order. i'm twenty-three years old and i've been roleplaying since i was about eleven years old, with some long breaks in between.
i'm currently returning from a loooong rp break and i've decided to give the inner sanctum a try! i've been on other roleplay sites in the past, none of which felt like the "right" fit for me. i'm hoping this will be my final transition between sites! so far, the community here has been nothing but welcoming, so it's looking like this may be the place i'll remain for some time. i've already said it in the chat, but thanks again to everyone who gave me such a warm reception. if everyone here is as kind as the staff (heralds, moderators, admins, etc.) i have no doubt my time roleplaying on this site will be great.
in terms of what types of roleplay i'm interested in, my tastes are varied. i enjoy writing for all sorts of genres, but i'd consider myself most experienced in western, dystopian, and horror. more recently, i've become interested in exploring fantasy and sci-fi (thank you baldur's gate 3 and writing for science-fiction class). i usually like to incorporate some romance in my roleplays, but it is by no means necessary. i find building platonic relationships between characters just as fulfilling. when romance is involved, i prefer mxm plots as i have much more experience writing for them. i've done fxm in the past as a female character, but i'm very particular when it comes to fxm romance so i tend to avoid it (for others' sake, not mine lol). i'm not suuuper interested in fandom-related roleplays, but i'm not averse to them either. the fandoms i'm most involved in at the moment include baldur's gate 3, the walking dead game, south park, stranger things, it, and until dawn. most of which are very "outdated" fandoms to be a part of, according to some lolol.
currently i'm enrolled in college, so i may not be the most active roleplaying partner. i'm in a writing-related major, so i have a heavy load of writing i need to complete to maintain my grades before i can indulge myself in personal writing. nonetheless, i'll try my best to type out a few responses per week, depending on how many roleplays i take on. for the time being, i'll probably focus on one until i graduate in november! i'm thinking about posting a request thread soon for a mxm western romance involving a bounty hunter and an outlaw who work together to take down a common enemy. i've been working on a character for this for some time, so either a request thread or a character thread will pop up from me soon!
