Well met, everyone!
I'm just another soul here seeking to share tales and worlds with like-minded others. In my case, I actually registered for the site some time ago... then promptly forgot I did, only to try and register again recently and get reminded of the fact. Well, I felt the need to RP welling up again and here I am, prowling fresh stomping grounds! For real this time.
Just to let on a little about myself, I'm a very... whimsical sort of RP partner. The realms I like to tread in with plots consist of virtually any realm save for facsimiles of the one we live in, with a distinct preference in my heart for stories involving knights and ladies (or dames and gentlemen, of course~), alongside mythical beasts and magic and conflict of all kinds. It should be noted, however, that I have also been known to gladly venture into the realms of science fiction, and am a fan of a great many properties of the genre, from Halo to the Honorverse.
My profile itself is somewhat styled after an archetypal (and somewhat self-indulgent) character I like to write - a knightly warrior or mercenary, often reviled by his peers for whatever reason - sometimes jealousy of his victories or resentment of his ideals, sometimes a detestation of his womanising (and occasionally menising!) propensity. At heart, of course, this man is something of a roguish crusader for justice, after his own fashion. Always in the right place at the right time to do some good and... make some friends.
On that very note, I do confess to having a bit of quirk I'd like to share. Oftentimes, what draws me into the idea of a plot is the promise of only the most lascivious and sinful naughtiness unfolding with immediacy and frequency - I do pride myself on the level of... "creativity" I have for such pursuits. But then, once the stage is set, all too often I find myself preoccupied with just what some might call the opposite! Elaborate backstories and motivations, great rivalries, harrowing adventures and battles, the construction of an in-depth fantasy world (with the exception of names, which I am terrible at thinking of and often turn to my partner for help with). I wonder how many RPers out there can relate to this strangely counter-stereotypical propensity for getting sidetracked from an intended bout of wholesome literary debauchery.
Anyway, I fear I've gone on long enough. I'll be getting on with the business of a proper RT soon. Hope to write wonderful, wicked things with many of you in the years to come!
