Heroes save the day, but Tricksters rule the world
I am Ktrick. I choose it because it sounds cool. Ktrix sounds cooler, but I hate names that have an x or s at the end because their possessive forms are a nightmare to read in your head. Fastforward past the fluff, I am 26 years old and have been writing despite completing years of college without a single creative writing course. I've never completed anything serious. I've done journaling, failed Nanowrimos, wrote bios, and roleplayed on my own time.
A personal goal of mine is publishing a book by the time I'm 30. Right now, my current idea is a Power Rangers/Super Sentai world with realistic consequences for the overused tropes tinted by rose-colored lens of heroism and simplicity. For example, if a teenage power ranger desperately seeks approval of assuming the superhero role from their parents, a one-time monster fight won't sway the parent's opinion. Instead, the parent will teeter between apprehension related their child's safety and anticipatory grief from losing a child who could have had a more promising future laid out by their hands.
Roleplaying is my way to improve my storytelling and I am grateful for any opportunity I encounter. Through years of experience, I developed a style that is more dialogue heavy which, by no means, is glaringly distasteful, but would be better suited for plays and scripts than novel-writing. I want more opportunities to RP to catch myself relying on dialogue and challenge myself to compose fluid exposition without needing the character to lay it bare on the table.
I'm open to most types of RPing. To keep the list short, I've found myself at my best in non-fandom RPs. I prefer RPs where we craft the world from scratch and anything goes. I believe my style works best there because my characters have their own goals and motivations guided by empirical human desires, independent of what the original content author has framed. It gave me an advantage in the past because not only did it provide a different perspective apart from wanting to be the "one true hero", but also opens up the narrative for me to become the "one true villain". If we stringently set an endgame and parameters similar to the original source, there would be less flexibility to try something new and the ideas become stale.
Of course, I regularly participate in fandom-related RPs in other sites. If it's a franchise or theme I'm unfamiliar of, I won't immediately throw away the chance. A little research here and there will decide that for me.
Random RP Info:
-Each post is 3-6 paragraphs unless in situations of rapid-fire dialogue or action.
-"Literate" as how I presented myself here
-Favorite Genre is "Death Game" for the exploration in human nature
-Experienced in Horror, Psychological Horror, Action, and Mystery
-Extreme difficulty with Romance/Erotica
-Can't RP in a group of 5 or more
-Anime nerd.
I'm excited to see what we can create here.
