This is the character list for the Edo era alternate history roleplay named Hunters, between I and DaringLizard. Realistic images preferred (just ignore the modern wardrobes).

Name: Hideo Nakagoma
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Appearance: 5'6" 150 lbs thin but muscular build, black hair, messy and straight, going down to just above his eyes. Black eyes. Wears a traditional white kimono with a black overcoat and a pair of geta (wooden sandals) on his feet.
Power: Plant Manipulation; the ability to manipulate and control plants, flowers, trees and other forms of flora by will alone.
About: Hideo Nakagoma grew up an orphan in the small village of Miyama, a farming town on the edge of a large forest. He grew to know the roads more than he knew what it was like to have a roof over his head. Instead of begging for money, however, he learned it was better to earn his food by working. So he helped the farmers until he started noticing the unjust of the Shogunate's rule, using monsters as threatening tools, taxing his village harshly every month. He began to start training in the farms, the way of the samurai, until he was old enough to leave his village. With only enough money and food to survive for a month, Hideo set out on his own, promising his village the honor it deserves.

At 15, he met his master, a former Buddhist monk and teacher of various martial arts, Toshi Murichigo. There with Toshi, along with another student around Hideo's age, they trained for a long decade, with the promise of slaying monsters and bringing peace to Japan. There, he learned to wield two blades, learned aikido, judo, kendo and an extra ability he never knew he had. Toshi says it's a gift from Buddha. He explained that not many have such ability, but at the same time, a good number do. Through Toshi's teachings, Hideo learned that he could control plant life with sheer will alone. Hideo worked to perfect his power, which he still has a lot of training to go through. Hideo's partner also had his own power. So did Toshi. Now, Hideo and his friend/partner are out hunting monsters in their master's honor, ready to take on Japan.

Extra info: Hideo has a scar up his left arm, caused farm equipment back in Miyama.

Name: Akiu Madayami

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Appearance: 5'8", 172 lbs, Skinny but very muscular in his arms. Bald with a tattoo of a Japanese Character that stands for patience on his forehead. Dark Gray eyes. Narrow head. Unlike his partner Hideo, Akiu dresses in completely black cloth. His head unconcealed however.

Power: Water Manipulation; Through a tiny bit of concentration, Akiu can manipulate water and some liquids. Only liquids that contain water. These he can hard into spikes or other projectile weapons but they only stay that way until he loses control of what he is manipulating.

About: Akiu lived in a cozy life with his father in one of the villages of Yagi. Though a peaceful village, the Shogunate's rule had troubled the land just as much as many others. Taxes of incredible amount and monsters there to enforce made living honestly a troubling task. Akiu and his father went daily to the Buddist temple at the hill of the village for peace and tranquillity. When they weren't at the temple, Akiu's father spent time teaching him Maui Thai and Judo. Hand to hand combat. Though he had fully mastered his fighting skills hand to hand by age 13, he had yet to master the sword his father had given him by the time the monsters had Slayer his father for not paying up.

This led to Akiu becoming an orphan. A life he had never known. His feet carrying him away from the village and away from the revenge he knew he couldn't obtain yet. The burning desire to put an end to the Shogunate's irrational rule was overtaking but his father's last words rang at him at all times. "Don't let anger overtake you. There is always a time and you will find it when it appears." These were the words said before they broke in and slayed him.

The kid found the man he would come to know as Master 2 years after the incident. He had taught him how to control his power and his sword. Though Akiu wanted more than just one sword. With this request, his master had given him a small Kunai and a small Kaiken to fight with instead. His sword staying at his side as he mastered a different fighting style alongside his partner. Though he hadn't exactly mastered it before they had started...

Extra info: Has a scar on his left leg due to a fall were he had sank his Kunai into his left thigh.

Name: Toshi Murichigo
Age: 64
Gender: Male
Appearance: 5'4", 160 lbs, shaved head, brown eyes, still wears his monk outfit.

Ability/power: Earth Manipulation, can control the soil and so forth from underneath his feet.

About: Toshi Murichigo lived most of his life as a Buddhist monk, until the monastery he studied at got broken into by bandits. He broke his oath of pacifism in order to take on the bandits, who he later learned were hired by the Shogun. He won the fight, but as a result, he had to exile himself from the monastery. Throughout his life in the monastery, he did learn about his power to bend the very Earth to his will. He also trained in various martial arts, including some forbidden, only taught to monks by monks.

He wandered Japan until he found himself a grove so far out of the way, not even the Shogun knew about it. It is there, where he settled and made a living for himself. One day, two young men named Hideo Nakagoma and Akiu Madayami would stumble upon his home, looking desperate. He graciously took them in under the deal that they would help maintain the grove, do chores and learn under him. He noticed they had their own abilities and helped them hone them. They would become valuable to hunting monsters and bad guys themselves. After a while, the pair had left the grove, but with the promise that it would be as much their home as it was his.

Extra Info: Toshi is a rare one who actually has two abilities. The second ability being fire manipulation. Something of which, only he and his two students know.
