Greetings to all! The name is John, though I usually go by the handle Bradok when online. I've been Role-Playing for twelve years. Most of that time was spent purely doing Tabletop with friends. It wasn't until around five years back that I got into the Play-by-Post scene. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and it has become my main outlet for RP these days. I still spend a little time on Roll20, but that's only when friend's feel like doing a One-Shot Campaign.
I am an aspiring author. I've written a few short stories just for fun. Currently I'm working on my first novel, have been for over a year now. It's Dark Fantasy which is by far my most favored setting to write in. My main inspirations are H. P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard. Nothing is better than Cosmic Horror and Conan!
When it comes to Role-Playing I try my best to mix things up. Different people like different things, and I do my best to please everyone involved in a story. I do prefer more personal plots and themes over hack-and-slash. Mysteries and thrillers, when done right, have a special place in my heart. Not that Combat RP is bad or anything. I always include a fair amount of it when I GM. Just that I think fighting for the sake of the fight is no fun for anyone.
Right now, why I'm joining the site to begin with, is my Vampire kick! I recently watched a marathon of the Dracula series from Hammer Films starring Christopher Lee. It was amazing. I sort of want some new blood for this new idea I'm working on, and hoped I could find it here!
