Hello, internet vagabond extraordinaire Avalon Rider here. Or not. This is a series of shapes and code on the internet meant to be understood as communication, I'm safely somewhere very far away. Watching. Waiting.

Quirky introductions put aside, I am a twenty four year old heterosexual man/young adult who has been roleplaying in various forms for over a decade now. I started out trying RP servers in early World of Warcraft and have expanded to forums similar to this one and tabletop RPGs.

I'm awful about talking about my interests as I feel like I can't ever remember them all at once at any one time. To give a few examples for now: World of Warcraft. I've officially retired from the scene as of last year but I played on and off for over a decade and as with many of my interests I am very knowledgeable in the lore of the world.

Fromsoft's action RPG titles. Cleared Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne multiple times. Love the combat, the worlds. I don't consider myself the hardest of cores but they introduced me to a level of challenge I'd never really gone searching for my games.

Chronicles of Darkness. Try not to get me started unless you really are interested. A roleplaying driven tabletop game, based in a grim urban fantasy universe full of varied, playable supernatural creatures with unique backgrounds and mechanics that tend to make them a far cry from their pop culture stereotypes. It's a setting I'd love to do stories in here.

Talking about RP interests might be a good idea. I'll admit up front I usually has little to no interest in the mundane. Some angle above the norm is required to grab my attention. As for genres, urban fantasy/modern supernatural are my go to's. Fantasy is a decent second though I prefer to avoid anything too generic; a twist of some kind is always appreciated. I don't think I've ever done a sci-fi story in all my years yet I'm not opposed to it. My biggest struggle is 'rules': A vague set of rules for how the universe works often makes it come off as generic while to many rules can make it impenetrable.

In any genre I like romance -- a bit of a hopeless romantic personally -- but it's not required and I do struggle if it's the main focus of the plot. Not particularly interested in smut.

If I'm going to drop any relevant misc. information I might as well give away the most relevant and uncomfortable: I have Aspergers. I can come off a bit awkward at times, stuff like sarcasm often goes over my head and can cause some offense. Paradoxically I'm someone who can be a bit clingy and want their personal space on and off. If I disappear for a bit I'd ask you not dote. Sometimes I'm in an on/off writing mood and someone messaging me asking if I can post right now can make me a bit skittish and end up dancing around posting altogether.

And those are the essentials. And probably a good stopping point given the scroll bar has shown up during this last paragraph. Tata and hope some of you are interested in writing with me.

Wow! I can't wait to meet you!
So glad you chose to stop by our humble little abode at The Inner Sanctum. We are certainly a bunch of quirky people who enjoy to banter about, write together, draw together.... But, loners are are accepted just as much as the more chatty folk. I tend to go off for bits of time. Not away from the site, just being silent and doing my own thing. It doesn't mean that I'm antisocial, I just appreciate having a bit of space and quiet. So, I can completely relate.

If at any time you ever need anything or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm always glad to help.

Anyways, thanks again for stopping by. We really hope you find your place here with us.
Aloha.
