This is a doozy, so read everything carefully, I wrote this with a lot of love.
(Your characters name and appearance are entirely negotiable. I just filled it in for the time being)
Rosalyn Parker and Ethan Caldwell have been best friends ever since the 6th grade.
Growing up, Rosalyn had been shy and awkward, her mother died of heart failure when Rosalyn was just seven and to make things worse, the popular kids all through grade school had a field day picking on her and teasing her; she was their favorite routine target every single day. It made life very lonely for Rosalyn, but she still had her father who supported her through everything as best he could… though the poor excuse of a school system would barely do anything about the bullies, no matter how much Liam Parker made a stink in the office.
He wanted to threaten legal action, but since none of the bullies had ever physically touched Rosalyn… nothing would ever actually get done about it.
Everything changed when Rosalyn started junior high… the same boys that tormented her through elementary were picking up where they left off in junior high… they had cornered Rosalyn in an seemingly empty hallway and were going to as they said ‘graduate’ Rosalyn from elementary to junior high… meaning they were going to pick her up and toss her in the trash nearby. The one that had just had leftovers from lunch recently thrown in.
As they crowded her and were about to reach for her… there was Ethan… cute and tall Ethan with his dark brown hair and piercing amber brown eyes… he ran at the boys bellowing at the top of his lungs and practically football tackled two of them to the ground, he punched them in the face and threw them away from Rosalyn with far more strength than a preteen boy should have had. All the boys were smart enough at that point to turn tail and run, none of them liked the wild angry look in Ethan’s eyes.
When Ethan turned to look at her, there was no wild anger, only gentle concern.
He asked her if she was alright and from then on, they were inseparable. Best friends forever.
Ethan’s parents adored Rosalyn and treated her like their own daughter whenever she was at their home. Rosalyn’s dad was finally able to breathe, he knew his daughter wasn’t wallowing in loneliness and pain anymore, she had a true and loyal friend to stand next to her and Ethan’s mom was a wonderful maternal figure for Rosalyn to be around. He couldn’t have been happier that the Caldwell family entered their lives.
Liam and Ethan’s dad, Rufus, even played cards together every Friday night.
And those bully boys? They never bothered Rosalyn again. In fact, they avoided her with a look of nervous fear in their eyes.
Truth be told, over the following years after that, Rosalyn’s feelings towards Ethan had begun to steadily grow into something much more than friendship. She was falling in love with her best friend.
By the time she was eighteen, she couldn’t even look at other boys and find them attractive… there was only Ethan in her heart. Everyone else was a grey blur, only Ethan shined brilliantly with color.
She never had the courage to breathe a word of it to him though, she was terrified at the thought of ruining their bond and losing him. She couldn’t bear to watch him walk away.
What she didn’t know… is that Ethan had been falling right alongside her the entire time… his heart burned for her, ached and yearned to tell her how deeply he’d fallen in love with her… but he never communicated those feelings…
His reasons for keeping quiet though… were a good deal more complicated.
You see… Ethan and his entire family were from a long line of pure blood werewolves… nobility… Ethan’s dad was their pack’s Alpha and Ethan was being raised to follow in his footsteps as the next Alpha…
And Ethan was afraid…
First, he was scared that if he took the leap and confessed, something could go wrong and he’d lose Rosalyn forever.
Second, what would Rosalyn think about him if she knew the truth about him and his family? Would she be scared of him? Would she turn from him and never speak to him again?
And if she wasn’t scared, his world was dangerous… if Rosalyn became even more deeply ingrained into his life… what would happen if his rivals decided to try and hurt him through her?
He’d never forgive himself if she were hurt… or worse…
Things were going to grow even more complicated though… when nature intervened to give Rosalyn and Ethan a violent shove in a new direction for them…
You see… males like females, do go into a mating heat every full moon… except with the males, they only do this until they have marked a mate, whereas the females always go into heat during the full moon.
Moving on!
Ethan always comes up with excuses to keep Rosalyn at bay around the full moon, because he knows he will not be able to resist marking her and fucking her within an inch of her life, with every fiber of the love he possesses for her. He’s told her he has the flu, a migraine and even violent diarhea… anything that he thought might repel her for that night.
It’s only just barely worked. The only reason that Rosalyn obeyed his request and stayed away was because she knew his mom was there to take care of him.
However… when his parents are called out of town on urgent pack business… leaving Ethan alone just as the full moon is due… he tries telling Rosalyn that he has a bad case of the flu and she needs to stay away or he could get her sick.
Knowing Ethan was all alone (She thinks his parents are away on a weekend cruise) with no one to take care of him… she stops at the grocery store for ‘sick supplies’ and heads on over, full intent on caring for Ethan in his mother’s absence.
Meanwhile, Ethan is dripping in sweat, sitting in front of his tv, his claws tearing at the arms of the armchair he’s sitting in… fighting the urge to go find Rosalyn and mark her… unaware she’s coming right to him…
